Best Breakfast Choice

Found this place one morning after a party and had breakfast with a friend. Loved the food, loved the decor. Restaurant is clean and the food is adequately priced for their downtown location. You don't feel rushed to finish up and get out - the chef guy even left a pot of coffee on our table so we could refill it ourselves. The chef guy does have an attitude but he is not obnoxious. Sometimes he gets bored and will eavesdrop on your conversation and make commentary, or crack a few jokes with you. He is authentic, and so is his restaurant. I love the place and would take new people there.

Great local hangout for breakfast. Closed on Sundays. Family run. The brother is a bit testy at times but the food is great and the breakfasts come flying off the grill. Consistently good every time.

Great place for comfort food

I had read somewhere that this place opened in 1967 which is very apparent by the decor (which probably hasn't been touched since) and i LOVED IT. The staff are polite but extremely no non-sense vibe. We went for breakfast and the food was delicious. I'm gonna be a regular.

Best Restaurants to Celebrate National Burger Day in Toronto

Best Restaurants to Celebrate National Burger Day in Toronto

Sometimes you just want a plain ‘ol burger. Nothing fancy, but good, simple and that won’t leave you hungry afterwards. The Patrician Hamburger ($5.15) is a homemade patty that Chef Chris grills without charring it. The meat is still pink the middle but has a great crust. On a toasted white bun with lettuce, tomato, mustard, (ketchup’s on the table) it’s one of the best things you’ll eat all day. That, along with the great family that runs the joint – Terry, his mom and uncle, and brother-in-law Chris – makes it a must for tourists and Torontians alike.

Best Restaurants for Cheeseburgers in Toronto

Best Restaurants for Cheeseburgers in Toronto

The Patrician Grill, one of the few original diners left in the city, serves up a simple, yet deeply satisfying Homemade Cheeseburger ($5.95). Owner Terry Papas, whose parents started the place back in 1967, says that his uncle - a cook - decided he was too busy to make burgers from scratch one day, using instead a few premade ones. Mayhem broke out, and well, they've been handmade ever since.
