Frankie's is the kind of place you want to sit for a few hours sharing a bottle of wine and some great food with your sweetie, or a couple of good friends. A warm atmosphere, made all the more romantic with a live guitar player. Wonderful. We had a great table by the window (though chilly - bring your sweater, but the fireplace table looked oh so cozy!
The caesar salad was fine, we're garlic fans so wish it had had more, but the greens were well dressed. The bruschetta was good -they found the garlic! The mushroom pasta as definitely the highlight of the meal - lots of expertly prepared fungi swimming in a creamy sauce - yummy! Carbonera pasta was okay - the sauce somehow not as delicious as the mushroom pasta and I wished for more pepper. We skipped dessert, nothing was super appealing - and we were full! Yes, this place on the pricey side for just pasta, but worth it as a treat.
Once again Frankies satisfied our every craving. A table of moans and 'oohh try this' we enjoyed every morsel from the sampler platter and shrimp bruchetta to the pasta dishes, chicken and fish.... and ohh desert. We ordered three and shared, pumpkin cheesecake tastes like Christmas, carrot cake is moist and yummy and the chocolate cake is sooo rich and decadent, but good for you! I love this place. The toughest part is choosing what to order as everything is delish!
Went to Frankie's the other night. It was our first time visiting this restaurant in Uxbridge, as we often go to another place. It was busy, and the vibe was good. When we first arrived, we were greeted by a smiling face which asked us if we had a reservation (which we didn't). The only place they could offer us was at the bar. We were hesitant at sitting at a bar, but once we saw how nice it was we got settled, and immediately realised that this is a great spot to sit, enjoy the live music that was playing and we also had plenty of room to stretch out as this bar is nice and deep. We decided on some of their feature drinks, which were really good and I'll have to add the KIR drink to my list of have to have in the summer.
Food came piping hot and timely. We did have to wait a bit, but considering it was packed with people, the speed our meals came was acceptable. The beef was the best I've ever had in town...perhaps anywhere. And my friends enjoyed their meals too. We all were Mmming and Ooing over the flavours. Well worth it! Our food was excellent, the service was great and the ambiance had a great feeling to it. Overall, this is a great restaurant. I think we've all found our new favourite place in town to eat at. We will be back for sure. And next time we'll be sure to make a reservation... perhaps for even to sit at the bar.
Went to Frankies last week for dinner and was disappointed yet again . The first visit we had was just over a year ago and at that time it was a great place to go. Went back New years Eve with friends for dinner and not a great experience .Not to judge it by the New Years "around the world Meal" we gave it another chance and went on two more occasions for dinner but it seemed to be going from bad to worse with each visit ( waiting over an hour for dinner because of understaffing or kitchen problems ETC ETC. The last visit last week was really" the last visit". Service OK but food way over priced and not all that tasty anymore. I think we gave them the benifit of the doubt once too often. Maybe its a better place for lunches or early evening meals but when we go usually around 8pm its just BLAH in every way and for what they charge for their main course they need to do much better in every aspect. Just another restaurant that started out great and is clearly going in the wrong direction.
I've been to Frankie's several times as I live in Uxbridge. They've always got a variety of great lunch specials - I've usually ordered a soup and salad or salad and wrap. Have also heard that their veggie panini is fantastic.
I enjoy their italian sodas too.
On Sept 17,2010 we went to Frankies in hopes of discovering a new favorite restaurant now that 38 degrees in Peterborough is gone. We found it!! Service was great as soon as we entered the door there was someone there to greet us, welcomingly, happy to have our business which is not common now adays. Menu was limited but covered all types of chicken, seafood, beef dishes. Appetizers were delicious. Some of us enjoyed desert and the rest had a great cup of coffee...suggest you order a ceasar drink as it comes garnished with pickled asperagus which is a nice change from celery. Go for dinner there if you are celebrating something special. They were also willing to custom make your order so if you are on a reduced calorie diet it is the place to go. Was a relaxed dinner...not rushed and clean washrooms!!!
The only totally Gluton free restaurant we have found so far near the GTA. The food is excellent, with good size portions. Price is good as cooking gluton free is not inexpensive. We have now been 4 times (three for lunch and 1 for dinner). If you requre gluton free, you will be thrilled with the menu. We will make the trip again.
Went to Frankies with three friends and we all had the best dinner together we have had. We are not going to bother trying new places for our regular get-togethers. We’re going to Frankies from now on because there are still lots of things on the menu to try. Everything we had was hot, beautiful and tastey. The lemonade is squeezed fresh, the coffee is fair trade and delish, and they even serve good tasting water! The breads were crusty and perfect, and the desserts. Wow. Perfect. A perfect meal was had by all.

We celebrated my bithday, and were treated like family. The food was great. Gotta try the ceasar salad. I had the Seafood Bake, it was awesome. We had the sticky toffee pudding and chocolate cake for dessert. Delicious. We will come back again, and bring friends. I can't believe everything was gluten free. Makes the experience that much better.
The food at Frankie's was simply amazing. The food is really out of this world. The service was great - they were very very friendly. It is really comfortable in there and it's not super formal. Next time we will take our kids. We will be there for New Years for sure and we have also gotten take out and it was amazing too. You will want to make this restaurant your number 1 choice for this area. The other restaurants in town have tough competition!
