Best Greek food in Waterloo

In short: - excellent food - good service - very nice atmosphere - reasonable prices Ordered the chicken souvlaki and it was quite delicious; definitely great food, but I felt like the portion could be a little larger (there was only one skewer of chicken), even though I didn't leave hungry. The service was good too - nothing to complain about there. The restaurant is very well decorated so it has a cozy Greek feel to it, but it's not overdone like most other Greek restaurants (no blue walls!). The prices were fairly reasonable too - $14.99 for the classic souvlaki dinner, but if you wanted anything more exciting you'd have to dish out a lot more. Overall, a great Mediterranean dining experience; in fact, the best I've had in Waterloo.

we arrived on a Wednesday night fairly late...

we arrived on a Wednesday night fairly late around quarter past 9 the place seemed fairly busy still, our server was very friend and welcoming, we started off ordering the calamari and the three dip platter, the calamari was delicious and the dips were good too, the tzaziki was legit not like the store bought stuff and the humus was good too, we ordered veal Parmesan and chicken souvlaki dinner, the veal was huge and just right, the skewer was tender and full of spices, just great, definitely be back here.

Went to this place with my significant other...

Went to this place with my significant other because we read all the rave reviews. The place is very nicely decorated, the location odd as it is in a stripmall. We were greeted warmly and taken to our table which was a cute little booth (which would be way too small for most people, even those of the average size). They need to space out their tables more, way too crammed! We ordered a saganaki. Nothing to write home about, was your typical saganaki, no complaints other than it took about 20 minutes to get and at most restaurants it never takes that long. They weren't even busy! I decided to order the ribs. Huge portion, but not tender to my liking. THe sauce was nice, but they were overcooked and seemed as if they had been recooked again and again - too tough. I was not impressed and took it to go for my dog. My wife had the chicken souvlaki and although she said it was okay, she has had much better. THe prices were a little high considering the taste of the food, but was worth it in terms of portions if the food was good. Service was a little awkward. Not sure if we will return, expected more becuase of the reviews - maybe the staff is writing them, most of the people who have reviewed this place have only reviewed this restaurant...makes you wonder.... Overall, have had much better and is overrated.

Definitely a pricey option depending on what you...

Definitely a pricey option depending on what you get, but for the sheer amount and quality of the food, it's worth it. We ate a lot and still had enough for leftovers for a couple of days. The appetizer for two was good and the dolmadakia were the second best I've ever had (the best were twice the price) and definitely the best in the area. Having the three dips were nice, and the taramosalata was an interesting new taste. We got "The Mediterraneo" to share and it was really very good. The lamb chops were maybe a tiny bit overdone if you don't like your meat well-done but for us it was perfect. Once again the dolmadakia were great. The moussaka was great when fresh but lost a lot on reheat so eat it there if you get it. The souvlaki were good, as were the rice and vegetable. The roasted potatoes were fantastic and we've wanted to go back just for them. Overall a fantastic meal. If you're used to (or looking for) a big meal and rich flavours, this place is great. Make sure to save lots of space before going, though!
