New type of sashimi...

It was a first time for my wife and I to come to this restaurant we'd always pass it. We've gone to many other sushi restaurants in Toronto. The rolls were poorly done and the fish didn't seem fresh. We were halfway finished, a cockroach came on the table and on the sushi plate! Completely shocked and disgusted, that was it for the meal. The waitress saw what happened and took the plates away with the cockroach still on it. Waitress said we didn't have to pick up the bill, there was no apology or anything. I guess they didn't want to alarm other customers. Never again.

Ridiculous is the new name of Kokyo. I went to Kokyo for few times. The food was okay for the price. The quality of food and service are deteriorating. On the last visit, it was totally unacceptable. The service and the food were ridiculously bad. The sashimi was warm. The slice of sashimi was getting smaller and thinner. The roll was getting smaller and the rice was getting dryer than before. The only thing that did not change was the beef, still HARD like a ROCK !!! The waitresses had attitude towards the customers. Their service does not worth a cent !

This is by far the best sushi in Toronto. The Kokyo roll is the best, along with a whole bunch of other special rolls. If you love sashimi, then get the Johnny roll. Love this place!

by far the best sushi i have ever had

We love sushi! One time we went to Toronto for 4 days and went to try sushi every day. Day one we tried a place in little Italy, ok...next day we stumbled upon Kokyo and it was soooo good that we went there the next day, and the next day. We have been back many times since and I definitely recommend this place.

Their delivery system is hideous

After specifically telling them to leave a message when the delivery arrives, they ignored it and never showed up. After calling them 1 1/2 hour later, they said the food will be here in 10 minutes and asked us to wait outside for the food because they do not know how to leave a message as instructed. After 30 minutes of waiting, no one showed up. They were contacted again, we were asked if we still want our food. What kind of service is this? Their food may be good but it would help if they manage to deliver it.

Awesome Japanese food

I LOVE this restaurant and eat here frequently. The other sushi buff reviewer said it all... the fish is fresh and everything is delicious. I've tried other Japanese places nearby and this one's the best! They have recently renovated the dining area.
