Faithful to the memory of film, the Cinémathèque québécoise was created by a group of film enthusiasts in 1963. Although its mission has evolved over the years, today the institution is dedicated to the promotion of film culture, creating national and international film archives as well as film screenings for non-commercial, educational and artistic purposes. Its schedule incorporates short and feature films from a collection of over 40,000 works.
