We love coming to Gibby's as a special treat when we go to Montreal. Who would think that dining on the site of a former horse stable could be so fabulous?! The low ceilings and ambient light definitely create atmosphere, and it's always so popular here. My husband had steak, my kids had chicken kiev or salmon, and I ordered the swordfish, but alack alas they ran out, so I had the Arctic char instead. The house salads were fabulous, but the gazpacho was a bit too spicy for our kids' liking, and too cold a night for chilled soup. My char and rice pilaf were not hot enough when they arrived, so I sent the plate back to get it warmed up. It was better, but still not quite as hot as I would have liked. Everyone else loved their meal. The bread and butter are so yummy that it's tough not to fill up on it before the mains arrive. Service was good and we all enjoyed our dinner.
Grand repas gastronomique, dispendieux mais unique en son genre
belle cave a vin,
essayer le sorbet au citron entre la salade et le repas principal.
une bouffe digne de la vie des gens riche et celebre.
Before going to Gibby's, I've never eaten a lobster that is so huge with so much meat, definitely worth the expensive price that they set for them. Great place for special occasions!!!
I took my girlfriend to Gibby's on the night of her birthday when we were in MTL and this place made me look good.
The restaurant was recommended to me but I wasn't told that the portions would be so big, odd for a restaurant at this price point but I loved all of it.
The service was great, the food was great, the wine was great and they surprised us with a small birthday cake for my girlfriend.
You must visit this restaurant when in MTL.
