Meet the owner

Lyssa Barrera, Denis Vukmirovic and Étienne Huot have always dreamed of opening their own restaurant. The three passionate cooks finally made that dream come true when they opened La Récolte Espace Local.

Lyssa and Étienne perfected their cooking skills while working for major restaurants in France. Soon they began to develop an interest in produce and how and where it was grown. The pair then toured Canada to work on organic farms. When they returned to Quebec, they decided to only eat locally produced food.  Denis is originally from Montenegro. He says he has always been attracted to food and the art of cooking. He was immediately bitten by the gastronomic bug when he landed his first job as a chef.

"We cooked together almost every day," says Denis of him and his partners. "We started to flirt with the idea of ​​opening something. When we had the idea to open a restaurant, it was clear we were going to be a 100 per cent local and, where possible, organic restaurant."
