Meet the owner

Pamika is a Thai restaurant tucked away on Sherbrooke East. It also bears the name of its owner and chef, who arrived in Montreal in 2011 with her husband and co-owner, Pascal Gonsales.

“It was a big culture shock for Pamika, arriving here, in the cold,” recalls Pascal. “To make her feel at home, we did a grand tour of Thai restaurants, and although there are excellent places in Montreal, we felt that it still lacked a little something.”

In 2013, the lovers teamed up with restaurateur Antonie Bordeleau and decided to open a restaurant where Pamika could express her culinary skills and provide Montrealers with what she considers a genuine experience from her home. The menu consists of an uncompromising cuisine inspired by Bangkok, with typical dishes of the Isaan region, where Pamika is originally from and green papaya salad with dried shrimp is the famous dish.

Bigger on the inside!

This place doesn't look like much from the outside but its bustling with fun and warmness on the inside. The selection changes from time to time and the spicy food can get quite hot! Delicious food, great service and an amazing vibe. Take out is available too!

Top Thai restaurants in Montreal

Top Thai restaurants in Montreal

This is our favourite Thai restaurant in Montreal, and we hear that it’s the most authentic! Everything at Pamika Brasserie Thai is served family-style, perfect for sharing. We adore their pineapple fried rice, and, of course, their pad Thai. Their beef panaeng is made with flank steak (and a hint of Thai basil), and it’s bursting with flavour. Their red curry seafood is also a must. The authentic Thai flavours will flood your palate and have you craving more the next day!

Montreal's pretty tasty pad Thai

Montreal's pretty tasty pad Thai

This small, family owned restaurant on Sherbrooke Street East is a true hidden gem. Once you find it, you’ll keep coming back for more. Their dishes are layered with flavour and heat. The pad Thai à la Pamika is packed with an undeniably delicious sweet heat flavour with lots of peanuts. It’s a very generous portion so be sure to bring your appetite. The dining area is rather small, so reservations are recommended.

Bring on the heat: Montreal's spiciest dishes

Bring on the heat: Montreal's spiciest dishes

Chili and lime pork from Pammika Brasserie — where the layers of flavour in each and every dish will dazzle your senses. You’ll feel the heat in most of the traditional Thaï dishes, but prepare to be amazed by the chili and lime pork. You know your dish will be spicy when you can see the cooked chilies on the top of the dish. You may want to order a side of rice just to cool down.
