Pintxo was originally a small slice of bread on which was placed a small portion of food. The origin of its name comes from the fact that the food was held on to the bread by a toothpick.

Gem of a restaurant

Love, love, love this place. Amazing food and the best selection of Spanish wine you'll find in the city. Highly recommend a bottle of El Castro de Valtuille.

Good food, warm atmosphere, and a lot fun!

This restaurant, just off Saint-Laurent has the best Spanish tapas in town! Pinxto is ideal for a romantic date or a nice dinner with close friends. The staff is also very helpful in suggesting different tapas. You have to try the Balalao (cod fish). It melts in your mouth!

Must-try Spanish restaurants in Montreal

Having recently moved to its location on Mount Royal Avenue, the restaurant Pintxo offers Spanish cuisine that you'd find in the Basque Country. On the menu, tapas are replaced by their lesser-known (for now) cousins, pintxos – slices of bread topped with tasty ingredients like sardines and beef carpaccio. The combinations are many, and you can enjoy them in Pintxo’s warm and modern decor.
