Beeuwke Hulstra teamed up with a business partner to start i.d. salon in 2002. “I always wanted to be an entrepreneur," she says. "The opportunity came and it was something we couldn’t pass up.” The salon quickly grew and soon they had to move into a larger space.
Success continued for i.d salon, which is now in its third location, with Beeuwke as the sole owner. Through all the moves, they've stayed in Fort Langley because Beeuwke loves the area. “It’s a nice, quaint little town; it’s a unique place. The community is great here, everybody knows everybody,” she says. “Plus, my windows look out to the water so we couldn't really pass it up."
Originally, i.d. salon was one of the few places doing extensions and that was their main attraction. However, through Beeuwke’s hard work the salon has added several staff members, expanding services to include makeup, nail esthetics and a barber.
