Traditional old-world charm fills the air at Continental Treat Fine Bistro on Whyte Avenue. Family-run since 1982 by the Borówka family, this welcoming spot consistently provides Edmonton’s diners with high quality traditional European fare and great service. “We really try to give great service,” says Sylvester Borówka, who co-owns Continental Treat Fine Bistro with his parents Ryszard and Helena Borówka. “Through the years we have created what I call loyalists. These are customers who prefer to come to our restaurant over anywhere else and now their children and even their grandchildren are coming in.”
Sylvester says the family has worked hard to build their reputation. They started with a humble seven-table restaurant, but in just five years were able to expand. “I’m proud of our restaurant,” says Sylvester. “We always want our guests to feel welcome and to enjoy their meals.”

If you want Gluten free this is the place but as much as I LOVE this restaurant and have been going there for years the gluten free Tiramisu is awful. Inedible. Some things cannot be made gluten free without ruining them. Sorry Helena and Sylvester. The rest of our meal was wonderful but the Tiramisu...
I walked in on a Wednesday night around 9pm...and was the only person wearing jeans. Oops. The place looked high end from the inside and it's located in the heart of Edmonton, The beer list is expansive, The selection was great and included a number of beers I had not come across before.It can undoubtedly compared to sherbook liquor store.
Completely fresh, innovative menu items and fantastic service. This is a must for anyone who appreciated fresh, innovative and flavorful food. Try the the escagorts they are very fresh.
For the appetizer I tried the Chicken Stroganoff stuffed with cheese, it was tasty, but nothing special to it. On the other hand, the Chicken, Shrimp and Rice was amazing.Cooked perfectly so that it does not feel like you are chewing a rubber band. All in all, the food is simply prepared but delicious, the waitstaff is amazing.
Amazing place with the very welcoming Manager and staff members, who did their best to make sure that my family (who visit me from outside of Canada )have everything they needed! The Sample dill pickle soup was the steel of the day!

We dined with you on Saturday for a date night. The service was impeccable, the food was nothing short of incredible and the atmosphere was reminiscent of an Eastern Europe dining experience. I’m Celiac and I cannot even begin to tell you how wonderful it was to have something as simple as garlic bread! The dill pickle soup was delicious as was both our meals. We will be back!

Delicious food. Very tasty sauces. Generous portions. Intersting original items on the menu. Friendly professional service. They claim to be gluten free. Don't know how they make gluten free bread and perogies, but all was delicious.

A Whyte Avenue staple and hotspot, the Continental Treat is an Edmonton favourite. This eastern European restaurant serves the best dill pickle soup in town, not to mention killer schnitzel, filet mignon with various sauces, stroganoff and, of course, slowly roasted duck legs with a pinot noir demi-glace accompanied by kopytka (potato dumplings) and hot red cabbage.
Gluten-free? Vegetarian? Meat-lover? If you have any of the aforementioned eaters in your dining party, look no further than Continental Fine Treat Bistro. It has one of the most extensive gluten-free menus that I’ve seen. They use many seasonal ingredients and their menu is fairly dynamic. Their dishes have French, German, and Eastern European influences. This place is always a good choice and never a dull moment!
Influenced by Central and Eastern European cuisines, they serve up cheddar and potato perogies, as well as wild mushroom and sauerkraut perogies. Both are a treat.
