Brioche French toast was amazing! Hash brown was perfectly crispy. Happy it wasn't so busy. Cute and ideal location in Yaletown.

The food was not up to par and no one at the table liked their dish. It was really embarrassing as I chose this restaurant. Also, there was no record of this booking and I was asked to prove the reservation by showing the email for the yaletown location. Not impressed at all

Memorably amazing all around. The love put into each plate was evident, service was friendly and attentive. The quality of food was awesome, both visually and tasting. Portions were perfect.

Our experience started out fine. We were seated and drinks ordered and delivered. Then we were basically ignored. People were seated around us, orders taken, food delivered...not for us. Finally my fiend asked if we could please order. The host finally took our order. No idea what happened to the waitress we started with. Then another person came by to tell us that one of the items we ordered was no longer available. Not surprised. Finally we received our food but no one asked if we wanted refills on our drinks until they were clearing the plates. Really? We’ve been to Flying Pig before and always loved it but service yesterday was crap. No tip.

We were in a rush stopped in for lunch. Seated fast and once they saw we were tight on time they rushed the food.

Nice atmosphere and service was good. Water refilled, dishes recommended, special requests met. The only downside is the food. It’s mediocre at best. Quite disappointed at the red wine braised short rib. It’s really blend. In fact, I think even blend doesn’t do its justice. The tomato in the salad does not taste fresh.

Food all tasted good but portions were way out of whack. I left hungry while others couldn't finish their meal. Moral of the story. Oder the pulled pork not the blackened snapper. Quite a disappointment

Online menu failed to mention that brunch wasn’t served on fridays. When asked the server just replied with oh we will have to talk to management about changing the online menu. We ended up leaving and going somewhere else for brunch. Clear days when brunch was provided would be ideal since we were visitors from out of town.

Quite variable portion sizes depending on the dish with no indication in the menu description or price. They were accommodating to vegetarian swaps but the menu is a little light on veggie options. A good weekend brunch option as there was space free for a big group without a wait.

Met my niece, new husband and 6 month old son for brunch. As it was Sunday, it seemed very much like an upscale family restaurant as there were several babies. The server was respectful and was always available if needed. I had a frittata which was delicious and the new parents also enjoyed their meals. Always a good experience. I have book corporate parties here before and it was great as well. I highly recommend this restaurant; however, always a good idea to make a reservation.

Natasha was great. She noticed I was Greek and started speaking to me in Greek so it was lovely. Food was well presented, hot food hot; cold food cold. Michelle also stopped to say hi (another server). Very friendly and warm atmosphere. Will return.

Great places to get delicious ribs in Vancouver

Great places to get delicious ribs in Vancouver

Most people automatically think southern barbecue when they think of ribs, but over at Flying Pig they take the European approach. Braised in red wine, the ribs become incredibly tender and fall right off the bone, just the way they’re supposed to. Flying Pig goes the extra mile, accompanying their ribs with bone marrow and a white cheddar mash, a combination you won’t forget.

The name of this restaurant comes from that rare time when the impossible happens – when what you uttered would occur “when pigs fly” – actually comes true. In this case, it’s culinary creativity meets ordinary food product. Indulge in salt and pepper Humboldt squid or the jumbo short rib macaroni and cheese cauliflower gratin. Add on a glass of Washington riesling or B.C. cabernet merlot, and you’ll have a meal that’s usually only this good when pigs fly.

Where to find finger-licking good ribs in Vancouver

The Flying Pig is a restaurant best described as “nouveau Canadian,” putting a high-end, gastro spin on the best flavours the country has to offer. No matter what time of day you come in, there’s a rib dish that’s unlike anything you’ll have in the city. At lunch, it’s the braised beef short rib jumbo macaroni that’s baked with a cabernet mushroom cream sauce. In the evening, be sure to order the red wine braised beef short rib, which comes with a healthy portion of roasted bone marrow.
