Our server was very helpful and congenial. Food was delicious and energetic atmosphere. Music was maybe a bit too loud for our taste. Overall we had a nice experience.

Came back to the Flying Pig after a few years, and unfortunately didn't enjoy our experience. While the service and management is excellent, there were a few points that we didn't appreciate. 1) We understand that it's hard to control the patrons, but it was so loud we could barely understand each other (with my partner). There were a couple tables screaming and ruining the experience for everyone -- it was even more loud than a sport bar on finals night. 2) We were served empty plates to share the food that we ordered (and that's fine) but the plates that we received were dirty (had some black oily smudges that would gradually go away when cleaned with a cloth). We asked for new plates, and while this time they didn't come with oily black smudges, they arrived with black stains/scratches from being used too much -- I consider that fine at my old mother's house, but not in such mid-expensive restaurant. 3) Unfortunately we didn't like the food, I barely touched it. For the price, I was expecting way better taste. The paella was lacking flavor. The braised beef short rib was good enough, but very small portion and the mashed potatoes side was inedible. The truffle mac and cheese was way too much cream with way too little (burned) cheese. 4) My major disappointment was the desert. I lived for their Tahitian Vanilla Creme Brule, as I always thought that the one from Flying Pig was the best desert I had ever tasted. Last time we visited was a few years ago, and now this desert is sub-par. I also noticed that while before there were vanilla beans inside, this time there were none. Unfortunately we won't go back again.

Great food, friendly service. The smells and presentation even enticed the most pickiest of eaters in our family- the kids. Looking forward to coming back again.

We visited during Dine out Vancouver and the menu was fantastic!!! The lamb meats were recommended and they were so good! The sauce had little bit of spicy kick to it which complimented the meat balls really nicely As for the tenderloin, it was cooked just right. And the dessert!!! Sugar pie was absolutely amazing! I didn't know what to expect but the filling and the caramel was perfect together. The scoop of vanillas ice cream was so refreshing. A definitely must if you love dessert. I really felt like we got a good value for the meal we received. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Flying Pig to others and we will definitely be coming back for another night out.

In the city it is becoming increasingly difficult to find good value when dining out. I was very happy with our experience at The Flying Pig in Yaletown. Ambiance and service were quite good, but the food was at a different level. Absolutely flawless. No question I will be back with customers soon.

The Flying Pig Yaletown hosted our Office Holiday Party in the beginning on January and they did a fabulous job. From the initial planning to the execution, everything was great. The food was incredible, drinks were always full & their staff was extremely kind and friendly. 10/10 recommend heading here for any meal, or inquiring about hosting events here!!

Most people automatically think southern barbecue when they think of ribs, but over at Flying Pig they take the European approach. Braised in red wine, the ribs become incredibly tender and fall right off the bone, just the way they’re supposed to. Flying Pig goes the extra mile, accompanying their ribs with bone marrow and a white cheddar mash, a combination you won’t forget.
View this Smart ListThe name of this restaurant comes from that rare time when the impossible happens – when what you uttered would occur “when pigs fly” – actually comes true. In this case, it’s culinary creativity meets ordinary food product. Indulge in salt and pepper Humboldt squid or the jumbo short rib macaroni and cheese cauliflower gratin. Add on a glass of Washington riesling or B.C. cabernet merlot, and you’ll have a meal that’s usually only this good when pigs fly.
View this Smart ListThe Flying Pig is a restaurant best described as “nouveau Canadian,” putting a high-end, gastro spin on the best flavours the country has to offer. No matter what time of day you come in, there’s a rib dish that’s unlike anything you’ll have in the city. At lunch, it’s the braised beef short rib jumbo macaroni that’s baked with a cabernet mushroom cream sauce. In the evening, be sure to order the red wine braised beef short rib, which comes with a healthy portion of roasted bone marrow.
