Went for my husbands bday. Reserved on line and told them. Was hoping he would get a dessert but nothing. Good food but no water given and no bread before food. A little pricey. Good service.

This place is awesome but a little over priced 4 what u get! It's like eating a home cooked meal! Homemade Pecan tarts r 2 die 4 but Scotty doesn't make them everyday so it's hit & miss if u get any!! SHOULD B MADE DAILY :)

Our favorite restaurant in Barrie. We go every New Years and Valentines Day. We also go approx. once a month. We have never had a bad meal or service. Take family members there for occasions. French onion soup very good.The waitresses always remember us.

Simple Food Done Very Well

very nice decor...simple but very elegant. the menu was standard fare, pastas, salads, ribs etc..a very uncomplicated menu but the food was done very well with generous proportions and the service was very friendly and unobtrusive.

We enjoyed a great evening, food was good, service was fast and engaging, will be coming back! !!!!! Found the place to be a little empty.

Good food. Seemed to be made with fresh, legitimate ingredients. Our server was very sweet and attentive however you could tell there was an overall confusion and disorganization with all the waitresses; perhaps scheduling difficulties but it seemed that they were all taking on more than they could handle. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her steak. Overall, a good dining experience.

Wow, do these folks have delusions of grandeur. Couldn't get in the front door without snide looks and comments because we didn't have a reservation. Well I have plenty of reservations now. Seemed to be mostly Senior Citizens, so maybe they didn't want us middle aged folk disturbing their quiet meals. Lots of empty tables, but we had to endure rolling eyes and heavy sighs from the hostess. I have never been so quick to leave a restaurant in my life. Won't be back, too many excellent places to eat in Barrie.

Every time its the same. . . PURE AWESOME! I come here and I get the Beef Dip with extra gravy and fries. Mmmmm, best sandwich ever, I love it and fills me up too which is something I can't normally find. I've been going to Scottys ever since their old location me and my family are regulars.

Wonderful family restaurant with home made delights and a cozy atmosphere. They really need a fireplace and then it would be total perfection!!! We are so happy to have a great little restaurant minutes from our front door. We eat there as a family when we are too lazy to cook and are always left content. Would Highly recommend if you have not been there yet!! try the fettucini alfredo!!!!

Scotty's is our favourite restaurant to go to. The food is fabulous-made with fresh ingredients which is so rare these days. Portions are generous and I almost always have lunch the next day! Our family of 4 can eat for $65.

We have visited Scotty's many times at both the old and new location, with groups from 2-18 people. The staff have been and continue to be perky, friendly, and very accommodating with all the options on the menu. The menu is very diverse and there is something there for everyone's taste buds, in any age group. Our food during our last visit was Terrific as always, especially the Caesar salads and the various Steaks which were all cooked to each persons liking. My favourite is the Bourbon Steak. The ambience is excellent and suits both the quiet diners on one side and the sports bar crowd on the other side. Scotty's falls within my top 5 list of great food at a good price. PS. My only comment to those reviewers that thought the food was bland and menu was boring is, that obviously they DO NOT appreciate what 100% meat burger should taste like and maybe they should just stick to eating the 25% meat content at those drive thru burger joints.

Scotty's is, by far, my favorite restaurant! I have been going there since before the new place, and visit at least once every couple of weeks or so. The staff is exceptional. They are some of the nicest, most genuine people I have ever met - certainly a far cry from most out there these days at other restaurants. Scott's talent in the kitchen is uncomparable. Whether it is the Mandarin Chicken Salad, the Teryaki Chicken, the Bruschetta (the best I've ever had), the Scotty's Wrap, the Melts, the pasta, the ribs, the desserts...*anything* - you can't go wrong. This guy has truly found his calling. Sunday Brunch is one of my favorite times - Scott makes the best Eggs Benedict ever - bar none. Oh, and his soups? Try these on for size...Thai Chicken (best soup I have ever had), and Chciken Chipotle Chowder (comparable only to the Thai Chicken!). The service is fantastic, polite, and good-natured. Scott himself comes out to say hi, and ask how things are. He really makes you feel welcome. They all do. The atmosphere is great (good lighting, not too loud, but not too quiet either, comfortable). The food is flavourful, delicious, and well-priced. We've gone there for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. All are fantastic. I've gone with my young children, and they love it. We keep going back for all of the above. This place is the best. Keep it up guys! I'd recommend it to anyone who wants a great meal, great service, great atmosphere, fair prices, and a great night out!

We live close by so its nice to see a restaurant in the area that isn't fast food so we thought we would give it a shot. We went at night, and when i walked in the door my impression was that it must be cheap and decent food because the restaurant was filled with seniors. Secondly it seemed like a relaxing place and the lighting and decor was nice compared to the average bar grill that barrie boasts. Have to say however the televisions with the hockey games on seemed oddly out of place with the decor. our hostess was fantastic and friendly. Our waitress however left much to be desired. She messed up our app's and had to be sent back...the brushetta i thought was terrible..way to much oil in the bread. and i don't want a garden of tomatoes on the bread. I was mainly dissapointed in the fact that it took almost a half hour for some bread to come out..and another 40 minutes for some salad and a hamburger...i mean REALLY? we watched other tables with different servers getting checked on 3 times to our 1 from our non-excistant waitress. On the plus...i really enjoyed my meal as well as my hubby. We had to at the end tip our hostess for the service she provided instead of our waitress...it only seemed fair when she was the one coming to our table to help when she could. all in all we are willing to give it another chance we like how close it is and how the food tasted..so if the wait time and service improves..it could be a place we will go to at least twice a week for a quick bite and a bevy.

The food i very good and the amounts are good for the average person. If you are a small portion eater they will split a meal for two with two separate plates at no extra charge (great for seniors). The wait staff are very friendly and helpful. I recommend Scotty's to people all the time.

I just have a comment about the interact machine...

I just have a comment about the interact machine going down, I was there that night and we were told by the server about the problem and that Scott was trying to fix the problem, which we did see him trying his best, and I went to the bank to get money out of the machine, but by the time our dinner was done, the problem was fixed. Oh one other thing the food was great and we will be back, the service was also great. I would like to say keep up the great fob you are all doing, both the front and the back of the house. We will be back and also have told many of our friends about Scotty's

I have been going to Scotty's for breakfast for over 10 years and it is the best family restaraunt in Barrie. I usually go for breakfast and get the skillet but sometime I'll grab a beef melt for lunch. The waitresses are very friendly and the food is consistantly great. The price/value here is truly excellent. I have recommended Scotty's to friends and family and they agree that it is indeed worthy of a visit.

My husband and I are so pleases that this restaurant is on Big Bay Point and Yonge, about a 2 mins drive from our house. Have visited 3 times in the last 2 weeks and what a great place, the food is excellent, very friendly staff, a nice cosy atmosphere, this will definitely be added to our list of FAVOURITE restaurants in Barrie.
