Mystiko Greek Kitchen welcomes you to their fine dining. Their atmosphere has been described as upscale, casual and family friendly. They are open at night all week. The neighboring location is notable for its parks. Payments by American Express, Interac, MasterCard and Visa are accepted.
Easily the best calamari in Ottawa. I work internationally, and travel extensively. I have had calamari all over the world, including in Australian fine dining restaurants right on the water - And Mystiko's chefs produce a better dish. The specials are great (only available) from Wednesday on; Probably due to demand, but a shame). If I have a choice of where I go in Ottawa, it is always Mystiko. A better quality and value for money you simply won't find.
I made a reservation for my grandmother's birthday. When we arrived, we were seated almost immediately. We were brought water, then asked what we wanted to drink. Most of the ones on the one menu were not in stock, so we had to rely on our server's wine knowledge, to get us each the right wine for our pallet. A few minutes after receiving our drinks, our waitress came over to answer any questions and ask what we would like to eat. We got the spanakopita as an appetizer (to share). The spanakopita itself was very good, but lacked a dipping sauce or some added flavor. For our entrées, my grandmother got the seared salmon. It was cooked to perfection, the side salad was delicious, the potatoes were well seasoned but they were not cooked all the way through. For my entrée, I got the steak [New York]. The steak was cooked to my liking but once I had dug my knife into the stake, I realize that the majority of it was fat. On the 12 ounce steak, you expect there to be some fat, but not minimal 6 ounces worth. For such a classy restaurant, because out-of-state was very lacking
Unfortunately the restaurant is NOT OPEN for dining. We travelled from Orleans and Carlsbad Springs to downtown anticipating a nice evening out for Christmas only to find out once we got there that only take out was available. No indication of this on then website and no email or phone call to advise us. Very disappointed.

Best Greek food and service in the city! Could not have asked for a better dinner. Eva is the greatest server and makes you feel right at home. Highly recommend this restaurant to everyone!!

Was really surprised to see how empty the restaurant was for a Friday evening...
The service was great, the food was ok...
I had a tomato salad and although the vinaigrette was lovely, the tomatoes weren't ripe enough. The octopus was well seasoned, but unfortunately overdone, so the texture was far too tuff and chewy.
My colleague enjoyed her meal, so maybe it was just my misfortune...

Eva and the waiting-staff team are extremely friendly and attentive. Best Greek cuisine we have ever had (having dined in actual Greece too!!) and definitely one of our all-time favourite restaurants.
We make it a point to visit at least once whenever we are in town.
