Dined here yesterday for dinner - the atmosphere was very trendy, gave off a cottage/winter vibe. The menu is simply outstanding, lots of delicious choices to choose from. We opted for wild boar spring rolls, bread + duck confit for our appetizers. Absolutely delicious. For the mains we tried the Game Burger with fries, Roasted Duck and Eggplant puree, and the Wild Mushroom rissotto. The burger was the best pick, not as gamy as we thought it might be, the duck egg aioli was the perfect touch.

I wrote a review in October 17 (Kerri) after having a near miss allergy experience. I would like to append this review. I just got off the phone with a representative from Antler who called me to discuss the incident & make sure I was ok. He interrogated the staff to figure out what went wrong - they already had an allergy protocol in place and he figured out what went wrong and has modified the policy to ensure the safety of their allergic patrons. I am considering giving Antler another chance!

We had a fantastic time and servers Michelle and Malik were charming, responsive, knowledgeable, and unobtrusive when they needed to be. Husband's venison tartare was the best tartare he's had in over a decade, and his venison two ways was delightful; however our friend's boar was a little dry and I would have liked more vegetables.

Really enjoyable brunch. My only gripe would be the lack of daily specials and quite small menu. But still, 5/5 for flavour, food and overall vibe.

The service was incredible. I truly felt like I was paid attention to even in a restaurant context. I believe the server’s name was Derek, and he truly took the time to check on how my experience was while guiding me through the options my first time. The atmosphere was relatively contained with white noise and the lighting was nicely dimmed. I never had a burger with wild boar, bison, and deer, but it was absolutely fantastic and succulent! For the price, it was worth every single second. Every bite was something to savor. The duck l’orange cocktail was unique in the way it used duck fat to create a smooth, fuller texture without detracting from the taste of the orange. All in all, it was very much worth it.

The food was amazing, but the service was impeccable. I work for a company with exceptional customer service, so my standards are set very high, and Antler definitely did not disappoint. I reserved a table for two on Good Friday for my best friend's birthday, with a note attached to take my card as I refuse to let him pay. While on the phone to confirm the reservation, the hostess was genuine and accommodating, setting a great tone for us. Upon entering Antler, my friend headed to the washroom and our server (I believe his name was Malik) immediately took note, acknowledging my plans for payment and ensuring a stress-free, smooth experience. Our waters were constantly topped off, food came at a comfortable pace, and servers were attentive, but not too present to stain an intimate dining experience. It was both of our first times, and particularly his first time with higher-end dining. This made for an especially memorable dinner, and we will definitely be coming back. To Antler staff and management, please feel free to reach out if you'd like me to provide any further review or testimonial. I would be very happy to spread these thoughts, and I will be raving about you regardless. Thank you!

Had a great time with the 90s-00s hip-hop and r&b. Ambiance was great, the food was absolutely superb and delicious. I ordered a Old fashioned like scotch drink with cinnamon smoke and chocolate nodes, fantastic! I had the Bruce County Ontario venison and my girlfriend had the tagliolini, neither of us can say one bad thing about our respective dishes. Forgot the name of our bartender/server, (Derrick?) was really helpful and amazing service with great conversation. He gave us some tips around Toronto as we were visiting for the first time. Our bartender/server accidentally offered us a special dessert dish, a pair of vanilla custard filled donuts with maple syrup shavings. Mind you, they weren't meant to be the special for the night. Even though we accidentally offered the doughnut dessert special that wasn't a special, Michael, the owner, still made them. It was truly special. They were fucking phenomenal! We can't wait to go back when we visit Toronto again.

Pros: Food is seriously amazing, cocktails too. The deer meat was fantastic, the chocolate mousse and the smoke barrel is the house favourite. Imho, I would steer away from the pastas only because you'd be missing the point of the restaurant's ability to cook some delicious game meat. Cons: we had resos for this place but because it's so tiny, we still ended up with seating at the bar. That would've still been ok, if the barstools were more comfortable and the place had a coat rack. The other being, I am a big eater. For the price, I found it very hard to ignore the portion sizes of the main course even though the food is great. I had to lie to myself, that I was full and stop by a Mcd's on the way back.

Would have been nice if we had some extra time to just enjoy. The 2 hour limit just not enough time especially when spending 300$ with tip. Other then time, food was outstanding, service was friendly and we would recommend to friends.

Server was impatient and not friendly. Bison ribeye was grisly, rare at bottom, overcooked at the top. Kale and arctic char were excellent. Cocktails were delicious.

Every single bite was unbelievable! Had the daily bread, the salad, spring rolls with boar as starters. The mains we shared the bison and the venison. The flavours were perfect, careful thought put into every pairing. The dessert was to die for - chaga mushroom ice cream. Chef Michael deserves an award or 5! I can’t wait to come back and have been telling all my friends all about this fantastic experience. Service at Antler is also outstanding! Highly recommend to all!

The place was fabulous. We even scored a parking spot right out front. Food was fabulous totally worth coming downtown from Aurora. Server was attentive. The food and flavors were phenomenal. We left some jelly for the chef to try. My husband is a hunter this is why we came. He is also a great cook and we thought the chef would appreciate it. The servers tried it and they liked it as well. We had a great time.

With a last name like Hunter, it seems as though owner and chef Michael Hunter was destined to open Antler. The restaurant celebrates regional ingredients, which are present all throughout the seasonal menu, and they even make an appearance in the cocktails, which are made with Antler’s own natural infusions and syrups. With freshly foraged ingredients in hand, Hunter aims to define Canadian cuisine at Antler.

Jamaican venison patty: It may look like a snack food, but it's as important as any expert entree. Slipped into a white paper sleeve with the Antler logo stamped on the front (nice touch), it’s the best version of any meat patty I can recall. The house made dough is so fine it's almost translucent, making it easy to see the mound of ground meat within with as much flavour as a well-simmered stew. And the delicately spicy dipping sauce with scotch bonnet is not blow-your-head-off hot thanks to being blended mostly with red peppers. Make no mistake: this is not the meat patty you're used to seeing under a heat lamp at the corner convenience store.

One of the most recent openings, Antler has illustrated that game doesn’t have to be heavy or gamey or boring. This is your chance to dig into rabbit, deer, bison, boar and venison, all done with elegance and refinement. Swoon.
