Dined here yesterday for dinner - the atmosphere was very trendy, gave off a cottage/winter vibe. The menu is simply outstanding, lots of delicious choices to choose from. We opted for wild boar spring rolls, bread + duck confit for our appetizers. Absolutely delicious. For the mains we tried the Game Burger with fries, Roasted Duck and Eggplant puree, and the Wild Mushroom rissotto. The burger was the best pick, not as gamy as we thought it might be, the duck egg aioli was the perfect touch.

I wrote a review in October 17 (Kerri) after having a near miss allergy experience. I would like to append this review. I just got off the phone with a representative from Antler who called me to discuss the incident & make sure I was ok. He interrogated the staff to figure out what went wrong - they already had an allergy protocol in place and he figured out what went wrong and has modified the policy to ensure the safety of their allergic patrons. I am considering giving Antler another chance!

Food was ok. Side of mushrooms was disappointing, needed something more to bring out the flavour. It was a boring preparation. Unimpressed by the parsnip puree (too sweet) that accompanied the venison as well as the polenta that went with the bison. The meats were prepared well but nothing special.

This is a superb little restaurant -- Service was excellent, and the food was even better! This will be my 'go to' restaurant in the Dundas/Dufferin neighborhood (although I'm not in that neighborhood all that often)

Dinner at Antler for my spouses birthday. Cold night but toasty warm inside. Greeted right away by super friendly staff Started the night with great cocktails, War of the Roses and Smoke Barrel. Both drinks were beautifully crafty and super delicious. Started with the Venison tartare super fresh, complex, well prepared and extremely tasty and the duck hearts yakitori , two skewers of 3 hearts each with green onion, beautiful sauces, another must have. For mains we had the venison and the duck. Both dishes were beautifully prepared, perfectly cooked and nicely presented. Definitely in the top of best dishes ever had. The wine list is small but us a well thought out selection of local , US, French and Italian. For dinner we had a wonderful light but complex Grenache, Syrah from France with the duck and and a lush full California Cab from the central valley with the venison. Ended the night with the sticky toffee desert and Antler coffee. An amazing end to a great dinner. We loved this place, service was great, super nice staff, nice ambience and over the top great food. All dishes beautiful complex extremely well prepared. The chefs care and attention to detail, is evident in every meal. So many layers of flavour and tastes, too many to capture in this review. Lets just say you need experience it for your self. To quote "We will be back"!!

Had an amazing dinner with girlfriends at the bar on Sunday. Cocktails, service and food were exceptional. That mushroom tart is ridiculous delicious! We also had the cavatelli, bison and hot rabbit all standout "super yummy, take the time to write a review that good" dishes. Left extremely full, have to come back for dessert.

Excellent meal and service! I’m not a huge fan of game meat- have found it too over powering. I ordered the Black cod ( playing it safe). It was delicate and delicious, but I tried the other 3 meals my family ordered, the burger, the duck and risotto were amazing and would definitely go back!

An outstanding place of delicious and interesting foods coupled with great, memorable service. I could not recommend Antler any higher. The tartar is worth the visit alone. Love the private labeled Ontario Riesling and Cabernet Franc. We had both.

I consider the whole experience of dining as part of my review. Being said that the location of this restaurant is not that great, the seating is a bit cramped (we had to sit at the bar). We waited at the door for about 5 minutes till someone came to check on us. On a cold day, and with a confirmed reservation, this was not a pleasant experience. However, Food was excellent. We ordered the Black Cod and Venison. The venison in particular was excellent.

First time and won't be my last. Every thing was on point: food, service, atmosphere nothing was amiss. Food was amazing and very well balanced. Although I am not a bourbon drinker tried their Kentucky Bramble and was very pleasantly surprised how good it was. Really enjoyed along my main course of venison. Get the Bison prime rib! Best meat dish I ever had. Also get your own dessert. I happily over ate not caring how much it was hurting my wallet. One of the best meals I ever had.

With a last name like Hunter, it seems as though owner and chef Michael Hunter was destined to open Antler. The restaurant celebrates regional ingredients, which are present all throughout the seasonal menu, and they even make an appearance in the cocktails, which are made with Antler’s own natural infusions and syrups. With freshly foraged ingredients in hand, Hunter aims to define Canadian cuisine at Antler.

Jamaican venison patty: It may look like a snack food, but it's as important as any expert entree. Slipped into a white paper sleeve with the Antler logo stamped on the front (nice touch), it’s the best version of any meat patty I can recall. The house made dough is so fine it's almost translucent, making it easy to see the mound of ground meat within with as much flavour as a well-simmered stew. And the delicately spicy dipping sauce with scotch bonnet is not blow-your-head-off hot thanks to being blended mostly with red peppers. Make no mistake: this is not the meat patty you're used to seeing under a heat lamp at the corner convenience store.

One of the most recent openings, Antler has illustrated that game doesn’t have to be heavy or gamey or boring. This is your chance to dig into rabbit, deer, bison, boar and venison, all done with elegance and refinement. Swoon.
