Dined here yesterday for dinner - the atmosphere was very trendy, gave off a cottage/winter vibe. The menu is simply outstanding, lots of delicious choices to choose from. We opted for wild boar spring rolls, bread + duck confit for our appetizers. Absolutely delicious. For the mains we tried the Game Burger with fries, Roasted Duck and Eggplant puree, and the Wild Mushroom rissotto. The burger was the best pick, not as gamy as we thought it might be, the duck egg aioli was the perfect touch.

I wrote a review in October 17 (Kerri) after having a near miss allergy experience. I would like to append this review. I just got off the phone with a representative from Antler who called me to discuss the incident & make sure I was ok. He interrogated the staff to figure out what went wrong - they already had an allergy protocol in place and he figured out what went wrong and has modified the policy to ensure the safety of their allergic patrons. I am considering giving Antler another chance!

Amazing food & amazing service. It was our first time dining at Antler and we thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience. Our server Tony was extremely friendly and attentive...best service we've had in the city. Everything we tasted from the wine to the charcuterie to the perfectly cooked bison was delightful. We will see you again very soon!

One of my favourite restaurants in the city, has the lobster roll and venison loin dish. Both were excellent as well as the vegetarian cavarelli, the vegetarian cavatelli is one of my favourite pasta dishes. And the smoked chocolate mousse for dessert is a fantastic dessert. The service was spectacular as it always is , miss being able to sit inside at the bar but the hunt camp tent was great and if felt amazing to be able to dine out after 6 months Thank you antler !

We were very much looking forward to visiting Antler for some time. Antler did not disappoint! Amazing elk tartare, beautiful bison rib-eye, and venison sirloin finished by a cedar-infused sorbet. What more can a meat-lover ask for?! There are plenty of vegetarian options as well, but we had no room left for those :)

I really look forward to going back when Covid restrictions are over. The outside tent was a little chilly last night but the food and service made up for that.

We had such a great time! Food and service was amazing! I couldn't decide what to have, so I ordered two meals and let me tell you, it was so good I ate almost all of it! No shame, all love and happiness! Keep of doing a great job and thank you for your great hospitality at the tent!

Went to Antler to give them some commerce during the pandemic restrictions. Sat in the Hunt Camp Tent, the improvised heated covered patio behind the restaurant. It actually worked quite well! We shared the foie gras appetizer, and each of us had one of the game pasta entrees. He had the smoked chocolate mousse for dessert, and I had the cinnamon bun. Shared a half litre of Malbec wine (wine list is a bit limited at the moment for obvious reasons, but it was yummy), and each of us had a non-spiked Mexican hot chocolate with dessert. Wonderful evening! We left with some frozen game pies and a signed copy of Michael's cookbook to give to one of my cousins who hunts and fishes.

Need more restaurants like this... Dining as close as you can get to the food source in Ontario. Elk tartare was great and the boar ragu was potentially the best pasta in recent memory. Bison steak was solid as well. We'll be back without question.

With a last name like Hunter, it seems as though owner and chef Michael Hunter was destined to open Antler. The restaurant celebrates regional ingredients, which are present all throughout the seasonal menu, and they even make an appearance in the cocktails, which are made with Antler’s own natural infusions and syrups. With freshly foraged ingredients in hand, Hunter aims to define Canadian cuisine at Antler.

Jamaican venison patty: It may look like a snack food, but it's as important as any expert entree. Slipped into a white paper sleeve with the Antler logo stamped on the front (nice touch), it’s the best version of any meat patty I can recall. The house made dough is so fine it's almost translucent, making it easy to see the mound of ground meat within with as much flavour as a well-simmered stew. And the delicately spicy dipping sauce with scotch bonnet is not blow-your-head-off hot thanks to being blended mostly with red peppers. Make no mistake: this is not the meat patty you're used to seeing under a heat lamp at the corner convenience store.

One of the most recent openings, Antler has illustrated that game doesn’t have to be heavy or gamey or boring. This is your chance to dig into rabbit, deer, bison, boar and venison, all done with elegance and refinement. Swoon.
