Bricco Kitchen and Wine Bar is a small restaurant in the heart of Toronto´s historic Junction village. The name bricco comes from the Piedmont region in the north west of Italy, in the foothills of the Alps, referring to best slope or hill of the vineyard. This is an area which mirrors our goal of showcasing a meaningful connection between food and wine. The menu is Italian drawing upon influences from around the Mediterranean with a simple and comforting feel. We offer up to 20 wines by the glass with rotating thematic red and white flights. more...

I would rate the service a D, we had to ask someone to take our drink order, ask for bread and ask to take our dinner order. The special was steak mine was half fat and under cooked. Dinner took 1 1/2 hrs too long considering when we arrived only 4 tables were occupied. Menu was different, strangely l talked to someone else the next day who had the same experience, and to add insult they added 18% tip. Would not recommend it, too many other restaurants in the area to try, would not go back.

The food was promising and great. Downside was it took 1.5 hrs for our entree to arrive. Our server was apologetic, but overall the timing of meals were executed poorly.

Very nice spot, with Scandinavian teak furnishings, high ceilings and a deep list of mostly Italian wine. The menu is small, but everything we had was capably executed. Salads were generous and delicious. The paparedelle with boar ragout was rich and flavorful if a tad oily, as were the green runner beans in tomato sauce. White sausage was tasty although a bit bland. Shared two wine flights (the Piemonte white and a flight of Italian reds, including a barbera, cerasualo, and valpolicella), from which we made subsequent dinner choices. Too stuffed for dessert. Service was very thoughtful and friendly. Recommended.

We enjoyed the relaxed family style atmosphere at Bricco, and felt at ease lingering over dinner on a busy Friday night. Our pasta and risotto dishes and wine selections were excellent! The space is conducive to quiet conversations without interference from conversations at other tables. Really enjoyable evening.

Food was exceptional......all dishes were served hot, the way good Italian food should be served. Our waitress was very good, however the gentleman helping her, was reserved in his expression....remind him that a smiling waiter further enhances the experience and makes the restaurant warmer. overall it was a wonderful evening.

This was our second time dining at Bricco and we were impressed that the staff and service were just as friendly, knowledgeable and helpful as the first time. The availability of wine flights is a lovely idea allowing us to sample different wines from 1 region. The food was delicious and imaginative. We would recommend Bricco to our friends and family.

Best Restaurants for Date Night in Toronto

Best Restaurants for Date Night in Toronto

It’s funny – Bricco is also in the Junction and also feels very New York, but has the more modern, sleek feel of Tribeca than the West Village. The large room is made to feel even more spacious by the white walls, high ceiling and tables spread far apart. What a luxury to be able to talk without having a table right next to you. Finally, you can really talk and eat in peace. And maybe, just maybe, fall in love just a little bit more.

Low-lit dinner around Toronto's Junction neighbourhood

Low-lit dinner around Toronto's Junction neighbourhood

With brick walls, wooden tables, chandeliers, fresh flowers, and the perfect amount of mood lighting, Bricco is undeniably romantic. An upscale Italian eatery meets charmed neighbourhood wine bar – you’ll be delighted when you walk past the steamy window and peer into the amber-hued romance inside. Menu standouts? Be sure to take a gander at the rich wine list, the handmade pastas, and the daily zuppa di pesce (fish stew).
