Friendly staff but not enough in-between check points. Two items came out cold (fries and a hot cheese dish) --- good recovery to replace both items. I would definitely go back!

We have been there many times and the food is always well seasoned and the sauces and flatbreads are terrific. We went on a Sunday night and it was almost empty. Diners just do not know what they are missing. The lamb shank was cooked perfectly with Israeli couscous, brussel sprouts had a good sauce, both the shrimp and fish skewers were tasty and the babaganosh was a great starter.

I notice this restaurant a number of times when I've headed for a coffee in Little Italy. The atmosphere was casual, open and understated. They had a room in the back for private functions which is good to know. We had reservations and were seated promptly. Our server Dan was great. He was attentive, knowledgeable and fully admitted he had not tasted a dish when ask. Much appreciated. The food was very good. I mean really good, but for the price, you didn't get much. I wasn't expecting Danforth size meals but a little more than we were served. I have to admit I was still hungry. My opinion, but check it out and judge for yourself.

Terrific mid-Eastern fare. Loved the cauliflower entree. 15 year old really liked his lamb & beef burger. Minor complaint--menu claimed Guinness on tap, but it came in a can. And on St Patrick's Day!

Everything was excellent! Our waitress was top-notch, super pleasant and fun. Not too much attention, not too little. We went for Winterlicious and the food was so good: I had the charred squid with fig compote, duck tajin, and a pear and phyllo tart. I would absolutely go again (and will!).

My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed our recent dinner at District Oven. We chose it because we were interested in the neighbourhood and wanted to try a new place. We shared main courses with each other and they were both delicious. We will definitely recommend the restaurant to other friends.

Toronto restaurants open on Boxing Day

Here is a Portugal Village newcomer - equal parts chic and cozy - that seeks to join the legion Mediterranean/Middle Eastern players to which Toronto currently plays host by injecting a little imagination into convention. That means innovations like house-pressed labaneh with zatar, and arak and sour cherry gastric-smothered poutine. Flatbreads, possibly topped with figs and halloumi cheese, emerge from the stone oven centerpiece like miracles. There’s lots for vegetarians here, and folks who like their meat Halal will find that offering across the board. The 4,000 sq.-ft. space is vast, communally oriented and handsome, including a 36-foot long walnut bar.
