I had booked a standard table (two seniors in the party) but was offered a high table. So, I ended up having to wait for an extra 25 minutes for a standard table.

Brought some family members from out of town to experience Pai... and was hugely disappointed with the service. My family was not fluent in English and required many repeated explanations regarding the menu. the server was very impatient with us and kept looking elsewhere and distracted. Although the food was delicious and the price was very pricy for Thai food but we were willing to pay extra for the experience.... we at least expect the service to be top notch. We will not go back again.

PAI was amazing! I had the green curry and my partner had the pad thai. Both were delicious and filled us right up. We also had the drink special of $5 sake bombs, which were delicious. We will be back again the next time we visit Toronto!

It wasn’t my first time at PAI by the way. Every single time, standard of service and that of food was amazing! The consistency is just breathtaking. Good food and I will always come to eat at PAI when I’m Toronto.

Gimmicky serving dishes that were hard to use. Server had trouble even showing us after we asked for help (no one offered to show us how and we struggled for minutes..). All the food (4 dishes) came all at once so by the time we got to the khao soi they were soggy and the pad Thai was stuck together. Had to prompt for water and sharing bowls. All in all, disappointing given the restaurant’s reputation. Won’t be coming back

I ordered the green curry with tofu & veggies. Very happy it could be made vegan (they have lots of options that can be made vegan, which is awesome.). First they brought me pad thai by accident. Thankfully I didn't have to wait long for my green curry - and it was very delicious, but not a lot of tofu/veggies which was disappointing.

Great food and service! The place was quite busy (which I understand - lunch rush), but we received our food at just the right time. One suggestion. I've been to Thailand, and I have to say it would be wonderful if the Green Curry could be made so it is as spicy as what I've tasted. I'm used to spice in my culture - and "medium" spicy just doesn't cut it. Please make it possible to request "Thai Spicy" for more dishes :)

PAI serves up casual Northern Thai cuisine in a bustling eatery that will transport you to the streets of Thailand, flags and Bob Marley posters included. Wooden beams run the length of the sprawling restaurant and give the underground space a warm, natural feel. The dishes at PAI are great for sharing. You won’t want to miss the papaya salad, which is served on a platter surrounded by shrimp chips, rice noodles and pork rinds. Ice-cold Singha and Chang are available by the bottle and there’s refreshing cocktail options to impress every connoisseur.

China’s northern cuisine – szechuan – is spicier than its southern counterparts. It’s the opposite case with Thailand’s northern fare. Pai specializes in northern cuisine also, but its signature item, the Gaeng Masaman curry, is actually a central Thai dish – served with braised beef and served with jasmine rice. Delivery hours: 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. (Monday to Saturday), 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. (Sunday).

One of Toronto’s sole destinations for Northern Thai cuisine, Pai is headed by renowned chef Nuit Regular, who offers her may-we-say stellar interpretations of authentic Thai fare (she’s also one of the culinary minds behind the lauded Sukhothai). The cozy-yet-spacious subterranean eatery at Duncan and Adelaide boasts a menu stacked with hot pot soups (think: hot and sour with lemongrass and prawns), and spicy meat and rice dishes like pork belly or oxtail with ginger curry and jasmine rice.
