We tried this spot for our Anniversary. We were lucky and ended up getting a spot st the bar without reservations. We had booked at another restaurant but due to the power outage they were closed. Anyways, happy mistake finding Patois. The food was AMAZING and the service and cocktails were pretty fantastic too!!! We ordered a lot of food, I just wanted to try it all. My fav was the crispy pork belly, jerk chicken, and dirty rice. I can’t wait come back again to try more off the menu.

Worst experience ...

Worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant!!! The Owner and Manager were rude to the 26 guests of our party. They didn't bring us all of the items from their prix fixe menu. They brought one appetizer cut in half for the 11 guests at my table! I understand the concept of "tapas style" dining but a beef patty sandwich cut in half is not sufficient for 11 people at a table. We asked for more and then found out that in addition to the $39.99 we were already paying, we were charged for every plate we asked for. Crazy because it was food that we should've received in the first place. Management did not want to take accountability for their staff mistakes and said maybe it went to another table. Management was angry because we were late and had to "turn away guests" and was adamant on getting their compensation one way or another. Overall the food was "okay" and the customer service was horrible. If you have a large party I WOULD NOT recommend this restaurant. Absolutely terrible experience, they didn't even apologize for their behavior.

I’ve had Patois many times before but hadn’t been in to the restaurant since before the pandemic. They were super accommodating and had a table ready right when we arrived. The service was second to none and the food is always delicious AF. I would highly highly recommend Patois to anyone who likes good food.

I had watched you gotta eat here so I think my expectations were pretty high. The food was good but not over the top. I found the the food expensive and the portions small. The drinks were extremely small and expensive. I think they need to up their game again. The staff was very good and very accommodating.

We hadn’t been to Patois since before the pandemic. We loved it before, and it didn’t disappoint!! We’ve been to a few of our old faves in recent months and found food and/or service had declined. Patois was a different story. Everyone (especially Luke) was so friendly, welcoming, and accommodating. The food was delish and we had a great time!

My boyfriend and I went to Patois to celebrate his birthday. Jefferey was our server/bartender and was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, sociable, and funny. We will definitely be coming back.

What a great place! Such a fun atmosphere, with excellent service. The cocktails and food are delicious, and I really like the music. Oxtail Yakitori is fusion cuisine done right.

Such a good experience. The food was super delicious but the best part was the staff. Both our server and another bartender were so friendly and thoughtful in helping us choose our dishes and recommending cocktail bars to check out afterwards! 11/10.

Something was up in the kitchen. Waited 90 minutes for mediocre, way overpriced food. I've heard good things from friends, so I don't think this was necessarily representative, but this was a bad look.

The place smelled like urinal cakes. We moved tables. Which was great. Ordered food Family style also great. Added 1 extra dish (rice) to the meal whilst eating the meal. The rice does not see our table because it takes over a half an hour for the servers to acknowledge the lateness of our rice. Several times we’re told that said rice was “in the wok” “chef firing dat up” nonsense. No rice. Then the servers acted like they were doing us a favour by not adding the ghost rice to our bill. Food is mediocre at best. Expensive & forgetable.

Great service. The waitress was attentive and patient. The fried chicken was great. The tiger shrimps were good, not great and the pineapple bread burger was great itself, but with disappointing sides. The rhum punch is amazing, but a bit pricey. Overall a very good experience.

Amazing service. They were super accommodating when we brought our son in. They even offered to wash his sippy cup when he dropped it and they gave him a toy flamingo to play with. Consistent service and we were always checked on

The food is always good and the service too. We had the feast for two and brought the leftovers home for lunch the next day. And the rum punch is the best in the city.

We had a lovely night. The food was fantastic, the service was great and the ambience was cool. The only comment I would make is that the music was so loud when we started the evening that we couldn’t hear each other at all but later on , the music level was lowered and it got better for conversation.

We have been coming to Patois for years. The food and service is consistently top notch. If you are looking for creative food, prepared with love that will leave you happy then this is the place for you. The food is both authentic Jamaican, but creative in flavour and preparation. Cocktails are not to be missed and are perfectly prepared to complement the food. Service is friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. We will be returning soon.

It is impossible to single out one fascinating aspect of Patois, as the whole restaurant is filled with intriguing fixtures and fittings. Take the bar for example – it's made out of reclaimed bowling alley lane. And the legs it stands on? They were used to carry the fake blood used on the set of “Carrie.” The lazy susan on the round table? It’s made with skateboard wheels and even includes a discharged bullet (pictured above).
