The Jerk Joint is located across from the Much Music studios on Queen Street, inside the Queen Live Fresh Food Market. All our meats are marinated for 48 hours in our home made jerk sauce and slow cooked in a smoker to ensure flavour right to the bone. Our Jamaican born chef has many years of experience bringing the culture and flavour to every dish he prepares. Although The Jerk Joint is a take out establishment customers are encouraged to chow down at the standing tables. Customers can call and place orders, which will be prepared and ready for pick up. We also have a fast, efficient delivery service through Restaurants on the Go. We offer a variety of foods such as The Bolt Burger, a six ounce jerk burger prepared using sirloin beef and lean ground beef mix served on a Jamaican coco-bread. Still hungry,.... add some jerk fries. One of our best sellers is the Jerk Chicken Wrap, tasty pieces of jerk chicken with smoked jack and cheddar cheese, chipotle and grilled to perfection. more...

Meet the owner

What happens when a marketing whizz decides to share a gem that has been under her nose for her entire life? You get The Jerk Joint. Owner Sharon Slacks is the marketing whizz and the gem is the tasty Jamaican food that she grew up with. "I love the depth of the flavours in my homeland food," she says. "Even a simple dish like rice and peas has layers of flavours."

The Jerk Joint opened in 2012 and has quickly garnered a following, in part because of its mouth watering jerk chicken dishes, and in part because of Sharon's skills in marketing and advertising. Sharon's restaurant has received rave reviews on social media and sites like Trip Advisor and Yelp. Customers are lined up for her wraps, rotis, patties and jerk, especially at lunchtime.
