Crowded and noisy environment...the space between tables is so close/narrow; there were no space to put my winter jacket while I was having dinner. I pretty much put my jacket on my lap during the entire meal. The waiter treated the guest very differently. DON'T recommend any person to come to this place for a meal. For sure, it would hugely, badly and negatively affect your appetite. There are tons of good restaurants in Toronto (or GTA area). But, Kiu Japanese Restaurant sucks!!!

I ordered black cod, no sides were included, not even rice. Appetizers were not good. I used to enjoy Kiu because of the quality of food. I was disappointed this time. Won’t be back for awhile, if at all.

I would expected not to be served bit and pieces of raw fish on my premium chirashi lunch. If you advertise as premium please save those left over bits for something else. I am not sure if this establishment is truly run by Japanese? I never get charged for tea in any Japanese restaurants in GTA however this restaurant charge $1.50 per head.

I went there last night with a couple of friends and everything was fine until I had the takowasabi. It tasted like pure alcohol with a hint of wasabi. I let the waitress know and she said she would take it back and she later came back to say that she would take the takowasabi off the bill but that "that's how it's supposed to taste like so maybe you just don't like the taste". If that's how the speak to customers that they didn't even cook FYI, it comes prepackaged, then I don't want to go back to that place. In the end the takowasabi was never taken off the bill and if takowasabi is supposed to taste like rubbing alcohol instead of wasabi then I guess 1. every restaurant out there is making it wrong and 2. The name takowasabi is pretty inaccurate. Anyway, you can try this restaurant but remember that if the food is not up to par don't you dare speak a word of it to them!

The service was outstanding. I needed to change the numbers of people on the reservation and I was greeted enthusiastically and made to feel welcomed. Service throughout dinner was seamless. Friendly and helpful and while we lingered we were never made to feel rushed. Very pleasant indeed.
