While the drink's origins are unknown, the most widely reported account is that it was invented in Florence, Italy in 1919, at Caffè Casoni, ex Caffè Giacosa, now called Caffè Cavalli. Count Camillo Negroni invented it by asking the bartender, Fosco Scarselli, to strengthen his favorite cocktail, the Americano, by adding gin rather than the normal soda water. The bartender also added an orange garnish rather than the typical lemon garnish of the Americano to signify that it was a different drink.

Spritz was born during the period of the Habsburg domination in Veneto (Italy) in the 1800s. The soldiers, but also the various merchants, diplomats and employees of the Habsburg Empire in Veneto became quickly accustomed to drinking local drinking wine in the taverns, but they were not familiar with the wide variety of wines from the Veneto, and the alcohol content, higher than that of the wines to which they were accustomed, was also a novelty. The newcomers started to ask to the local hosts to spray a bit of water into the wine (spritzen, in German) to make the wines lighter.
BELLINI 3 oz prosecco, 2 oz peach juice
The Bellini was invented sometime between 1934 and 1948 by Giuseppe Cipriani, founder of Harry's Bar in Venice, Italy. He named the drink the Bellini because its unique pink color reminded him of the toga of a saint in a painting by 15th-century Venetian artist Giovanni Bellini
ROSSINI 3 oz prosecco, 2 oz strawberry juice
Being a variation of the Bellini cocktail, Rossini is based on the same preparation. The drink was named after the 19th century Italian composer Gioachino Rossini.
MIMOSA 3 oz prosecco, 2 oz orange juice
It is believed to have been invented 1925 in the Hôtel Ritz Paris by Frank Meier. It is probably named after the common name in Anglophone Europe for the yellow flowers of Acacia dealbata

Salty, overrated, and rude.
Amazing service! The waitresses were attentive and mangers checked to make sure we were enjoying the food. Excellent food! The best calamari and shrimp I ever had! Both were fresh tasting and succulent! The mojito was great as well as the wine. The pasta was well made and fresh. The atmosphere can be improved, it was nice, but it was a bit packed and noisy.

The service was very slow! We waiting one hour just to get the bottle of wine that we ordered. Apparently waiting for glasses to be cleaned. Slow service and poor follow up. They need more staff! The manager told us that he’s in the back working to help out.

The moment I stepped foot into the restaurant, I felt this warm welcoming vibe. It’s modern with old Italian flair. Love the decor! Sidney our server was friendly and professional, always greeted us with a smile. The food was fantastic. If you want authentic Italian food, this is the place!!

Not very welcoming and server didn't know how to serve and greet. Salads were really good. Pasta was almost raw served. When we told our server it was changed to spaghetti but still not good. I was recommended by one of our friend. So I went there. Coffee and cake was good too.

I took my family out for dinner for my moms birthday and was instantly warmed with greetings by the host. We sat down for dinner and the entire atmosphere was so inviting and lively. Our server Dave was the highlight of our night as he made us feel like family not just guests. The service was INCREDIBLE and the food was amazing. The bill time was so fast and the presentation was outstanding. Dave really made sure to give us the best hospitality he could and it definitely stood out! Will be back!

Great location with adequate parking. Indoor and outdoor seating. Warm and welcoming unfortunately I give it three stars because it is just too cold and uncomfortable inside. Menu and wine selection is great. Staff is friendly. Courteous and professional. What could be better is wine pairing to match the specials and improvements to the wine card hence four stars.

A friend and I met for lunch. This was our first time at Motorino (Vaughan). We shared the following: Eggplant Ripieno, Avocado Farro Salad and Commisso Pizza (wood burning style). The food was delicious and the wait staff were very attentive and friendly. We would definitely return to this restaurant.

we were so excited to go to this neighbourhood restaurant, but very disappointed the wait staff was so slow, we understood it was busy and then when the bill came an addition of protein on the $18 salad was $16 - that's not right - it should have been noted on the menu or at least told, $16 is another DISH not a 4oz salmon alone. Then the specials of the day did not have any prices to it. the steak was $65, sorry this isn't a steak house, at least tell us the prices. turned off

This was my first time at Motorino, so I didn't really know what to expect. I was delighted! The food was delicious, and our server(s) were knowledgeable and friendly.
