The dining room is beautiful, both modern and reminiscent of the farm that once stood here. Windows look out on the countryside to the St. Lawrence on one side and toward the edges of the town at the other. Sunset is spectacular at both ends, with the sky over the river a light pink deepening to mauve and then grey, as sunset approaches. This evening I sat on the other side, where the sunset sky turns brilliant pink and gold. What a beautiful sight. My first course was a warm plate of Quebec ham-likely -the most delicious I have ever had--and asparagus. Absolutely wonderful. The second course was a beautiful breast of local duck, sliced,, with parsnip puree and a rhubarb compote, with grilled slices of parsnip and rhubarb decorating the plate--simply delicious. Just the right amount of sweetness to accompany the duck, but not too much! Wonderful. Once again, wonderful service by the staff. I sat near enough the kitchen to observe a little how all this wonderful food is prepared. .

The dining room is so welcoming to a variety of people--families with young children, couples, young hikers, adults on a getaway weekend. The range of people in the dining room makes it a lively and convivial space. The food is creative and interesting, featuring local ingredients, and flavors in many dishes rich and complex, beautifully presented, but totally approachable. It's such an enjoyable and relaxing experience to dine here. This evening I had a first course of seared tuna in an Asian style broth, a special. Out of this world flavor, and the tuna was perfect. My second course was Quebec lamb--the great local specialty. It's a big dish--big in flavor, a hearty amount, accompanied by luscious polenta (and a parmesan chip) as well as ratatouille. But the tender, moist lamb is the memorable center of the dish. It was great. For dessert, the server suggested the cheesecake, and it was as he described--llight, not too sweet, beautifully presented. It was a great dessert after that scrumptious lamb.

This was the last evening of my wonderful five-day stay in Charlevoix, and I was ready to celebrate such a great vacation in this beautiful region, and especially having hiked in the nearby mountains that day. Once again, I had enough of a view of the kitchen to see the great teamwork, and the servers works seamlessly as a team--terrific. My first course was the foix gras, accompanied by baby vegetables, such as scaliion, what may have been scape, and what I thought was endive--which I had no idea could taste so good with foie gras, along with slivers of absolutely delicious pecans, a few delicious islands of sauce (could that be the whisky?) and plenty of multigrain toast. It was simply wonderful, a great treat, and the serving of foie gras was very generous. My second course was a bavette, a steak, a special. It was beautifully grilled, with wonderful roasted potates, and lovely grilled vegetables . Another treat! I finished this meal, too, with the delicious cheesecake. I should mention the excellent wines by the glass, fairly full-bodied reds and a chardonnay, great flavors at very good value.

The service us warn and friendly, and the staff works well as a team. Compliments to all! The walleye main course was fantastic--a wonderful blend of flavors that complemented the walleye. The first course of octopus was also excellent and visually stunning. 'The bright purple potato slices, the pink octopus, the red and yellow of a vegetable (nonspicy) salsa, the baby vegetables scattered across the plate--a dish that was fun to look at and even more fun to eat. The range of flavors from around the plate blended well with the octopus--the romesco sauce, the salsa, those stunning with a touch of sour cream, etc. 'Dessert (a chocolate moouse) and coffee made it a perfect meal.

Once again, hats off to the excellent staff who make sure you are welcome and comfortable, never with an empty glass and so effectively working as a team. I had a main dish of cod. I had the same delicious preparation for fish as the previous night, but the brightness of the cod make it a whole new dish. I loved them both--the walleye, like being deep in the woods; the cod like staying at the seashore! Both were tremendous! The first course was asparagus soup--could not have been lovelier! I had a couple Quebec cheeses--a blue and the Migneron., With a strawberry dessert at the end, what a terrific meal!

Very nice selection of brunch choices..loved the omelettes in particular. Attentive service as well...great value for the price. Would definitely return and recommend. You are also able to walk around the grounds to enjoy the beautiful scenery.

Incredibly great food. We only had reserved for the 1st dinner of the week-end, thinking we may want to try other restaurants nearby, but just rebooked the Saturday as well. But what made it really memorable was the extra mile the whole staff was ready to do. I'm highly recommending this restaurant to anyone.

Based in previous experience, service was below expectations and below what is to be expected from a restaurant of this class. Wine recommendations were approximate and service was very slow. Food was ok, but not as good as our last visit from a year ago.

Great, great meal. Service a little choppy, but when we asked for a little help from a waiter who was not ours, he jumped on the issue and solved it immediately. So overall great crew and wonderful food.
