Visiting Montreal for the long weekend. Our first dinner at Le Serpent surpassed our expectations. The atmosphere and service were excellent and the food was amazing. It was a wonderful way to start the weekend and I would highly recommend this establishment.

We waited 40 minutes for someone to take our order. Limited choices on the menu that is fine but at least perfect those choices. The meal was over compensated with salt!! Would never go back to this restaurant. Mediocre!!! And Montreal has so many good restaurants to choose from this was a mistake that I won’t make again.

I found the food very subpar. We were a group of six and had taken a few appetizers including the specials. The food was bland with not much flavouring. The pasta was less than al dente, the pork was not tender and the foie gras was not 'amazing' at all. The desserts were very average. I don't understand how the reviews are this outstanding on the food. For someone that has been to many fine dining restaurants, this is not a must. However, the ambiance was nice and the service was good.

A return visit didn't disappoint, Le Serpent is at the top of it's game.

What a wonderful meal. This is the second time we have had to dine there ( two years apart), and both times been enveloped by kindness from the moment you enter until you leave. This kindness is enhanced by the staff, their knowledge, the choice of wines, and of course the quality of the food, It is all ways wonderful to have such an excellent experience while dining without being distracted by anything other than the company you are with and the meal in front of you. Crudi wasn't as good as usual as they seem to have changed the flavoring a bit but other than that the rest of the food, wine and service were great
