De retour à Montréal après une absence de cinq ans, le holder na pas changé toujours parfait du service au décor en passant pas la cuisine soignée et généreuse. Une adresse à ne pas manquer si vous passez par Montréal
Je suis allée manger chez Holder dimanche dernier pour une réservation de groupe de plus de 20 personnes. Lors de ces réservations, un menu simplifié est proposé au groupe. En réservant, mes amis se sont informés sur la possibilité d’accommoder un invité végétalien et cela ne créait aucun problème. Au moment de commander, je me suis informée au serveur sur les options disponibles. On m'a alors proposer une salade verte qui consistait en de la roquette et de la vinaigrette.

Super pour une bonne soirée de filles (ou de gars!!), entre amis, en couple, en famille... Très bonne ambiance, peut être bruyant pour certain, mais on y va justement pour l'atmosphère à la fois assez sophistiquée, mais surtout à la fête... Les must have: Tartare de saumon, parpadelle aux champignons, 1 petit verre de blanc (ou deux!)
I have been twice to Holder now, and it did not disappoint either time. It was amazing. The fois gras poelé with gingerbread was incredible, we still talk about it! The service was friendly without being intrusive and they were very well informed about the food, and seemed passionate about it. Overall, it's a great place to go and eat. Worth every penny (to be honest, we were surprised it wasn't more expensive!).
Went to Holder last night with friends and had only been once maybe 2 years ago. Pleasantly surprised to see very reasonable prices and the food was very good. Shared a couple of appetizers with friends, glass of wine, deserts (caramel fondant is amazing). I know they do Sunday brunch as well and will definitely check it out soon!
Si vous êtes dans le coin, ya pas a chercher ailleurs ! C'est délicieux, simplement. Belle carte. La joue, la soupe a l'oignon, les carpaccios, la salade tomate bocconcini basilic, tous délicieux! Décor très agréable, grande salle mais trés chaleureuse pareil. J'ai adoré entre amis, j'y retournerai certain pour faire découvrir a mon chum!

Made a reservation a few days prior since restaurants are reopened in montreal, showed up and the restaurant was still closed for COVID. Website said it was open and so did google. Very dissapointed this seems like a very basic function, disable your booking service if you are closed!

My wife and I went for dinner (supper), and were seated promptly. The restaurant was full, and the noise level was very high, which is about the only negative thing I can say. Our waitress was friendly and informative, and helped me choose a wine. Our habit is to share several courses so that we can experience as many tastes as possible. Accordingly, we started with creamed asparagus soup with crab and ham. It was delicious! The wine we chose was a nice Bordeaux, which was excellent. Next we shared the endive and watercress salad with walnuts and Benedictine blue cheese. We had never had endive sliced in this way, and enjoyed the salad very much. The next course was calamari, which was of superlative tenderness and flavour when compared to calamari we've had in other restaurants. Finally we had the lobster ravioli with fennel, a suitable climax to an incredible meal. My wife always says that French cooking is all about the sauces, and I have to say that the chef at Holder has obviously mastered this aspect. The denouement involved an espresso and a shot of single malt Scotch as a digestive. All in all, a truly exceptional meal, the memory of which we will long savour, both literally and figuratively!

This is our 4th visit to Holder. French onion soup & shepherds pie were delicious. Our duck confit tasted good but was dry. My mushroom, pancetta pappardella could have been better. It was dry. The fresh pappardella was sticking together making them lumpy & not able to pick up the flavors of the sauce. Service was disappointing because our 1st waiter left our table to take care of another table. We were left in limbo. Then a 2nd waiter came to take our order. After our food came & they got busy, nobody came to top up our water. This reminded me of my 3rd visit to Holder. That same waiter (I can recognize him) also left our table totally to take care of other (maybe regular )guests of his!!! We will not go back again!!!

Dined twice in a week during a visit to Montreal Good value for well prepared French food and decent by the glass wine offerings. Good service. We observed a most unhappy couple next to us send back a bottle of wine and then had issues with their entrees. Staff bent over backwards to accommodate, floor manager Dominic in particular.

There are very few very large breweries of this kind in Paris; they're generally smaller in size. But I like the Holder, which has managed a beautiful modern take on the Parisian tavern. I'm a lifelong devotee of their salmon tartare!
