Meh . . .

An excellent restaurant with a cozy atmosphere and veteran service. My girlfriend and I had the tasting menu, and not a single dish missed the mark. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a wonderful dining experience in old Montreal.

Service was great as well as the food. I visit the restaurant every time that visit Montreal.

The dining room was very classy and beautiful, the service and the staff were courteous and Covid careful. The food was delicious and very tasty, the presentation of every course was a beauty.

Romantic atmosphere, wonderful service, delicious food, perfect Caprihanas! Our waiter was so experienced and gracious. Just to watch the staff work is like watching art. The care and professionalism they exuded gave us a 5-star experience. We went twice for dinner both times the service was exceptional and our food amazing. I've gone to other restaurants where the wait staff seemed to spend more time checking their phones or socializing behind the bar rather than on their guests. Here we felt so welcome and even got a little treat to celebrate our anniversary! !

Yummy grilled sardines and languiça (sausage). Bit pricy for tapas, but it’s justified because of the portions. Too bad they don’t have pasteis de nata (Portugese egg tarts, think of portable créme brulée).

The food was absolutely delicious. The service was impeccable during the meal and after (I left my sweater there by accident and they arranged to have it available for me to pick up). I would highly recommend this to others for a special evening out.

In one word........ Amazing!!! Wonderful ambiance Absolutely great food Super Host Staff Highly recommend the Seared Scallops and Chorizo Sausage and the Sirloin Steak!!!! Very pleasant performer with guitar and vocals. All around awesome experience.

Great restaurant with exceptional waiter and service. The man had a wonderful personality and great stories about great people that he had served. Great atmosphere.

I reserved (and received confirmation) for 3pm, only to arrive to a locked door. I was informed by a waiter at the neighbour restaurant that Solmar opened at 5pm Your website indicates opening hours 11am-11pm Sundays Very disappointed

I booked a reservation for two people and received an email confirmation... we get there and the restaurant was closed.. we spent 40 mins in traffic for absolutely nothing

Loved it!

One of the finest meals I have ever had anywhere. The table side Cesar salad was outstanding beyond words. The seafood rice was excellent. Service was attentive and friendly. There was also live music which enhanced the atmosphere. My wife and I already talking about returning to Montreal just so we can eat here again.

A wonderful experience. Great food with hard to find dishes like monkfish and porgy. The wait staff are old school with lots of class. A totally enjoyable time

Excellent restaurant. This was our third visit and we had an amazing time once again. The food, service and atmosphere are always great.

I’ve always come here for the shrimp bisque but there was something different about this time so was quite disappointed. It tasted more like a tomato bisque than shrimp. Otherwise everything was good. Service was good, wouldn’t give it a ‘great’ as the server was quite busy trying to tend to 6 tables all by himself.

I enjoyed the Fado musical treat and chose this restaurant specifically for that feature. I thought the vocal part of the presentation was a bit too loud. Also it was challenging for one of the members of our dinner party to have to climb 2 flights of stairs to reach the restaurant. Finally there is no sign or indication that the door leading into the restaurant is actually the entrance until one opens and looks inside.

Excellent food, service and music. Best meal during our trip to Montreal!
