The shop also offer a light afternoon tea, complete with cucumber finger sandwiches, peppercorn shortbread crackers, scones with cream and jam and sweets. Or, spring for the high tea, which includes everything the light afternoon tea does, plus a savoury quiche or bread pudding. They even have gluten-free options for both versions!

This may be the most elegant place in the city to sip on a cup of Earl Grey. The Harvest Room offers not only a world-class view of the impressive hotel grounds and the North Saskatchewan River, but some world-class tea, as well. Plus, the desserts are always top-notch here. They do a Royal Tea and tour on Saturdays and Sundays at 2:30 p.m., with a tour of the historic hotel beginning at 4 p.m.

The shop offers tea classes to educate you about your favourite brews (admit it: You're curious!). Depending on your preferences, the tea slingers here will help you pick your perfect blend. There's plenty of cute, mismatched seating and they serve a variety of cakes, cookies and freshly baked goodies, made in-house, as well. The recently renovated space is the perfect spot to visit with mom or friends over a hot cup of tea and a treat.

Pair your high tea experience with a history lesson by visiting Fort Edmonton Park. Inside the park's Hotel Selkirk, you'll find Johnson's Cafe, where you can enjoy afternoon tea for two or more people. The high tea includes open-faced finger sandwiches, freshly baked scones, almond streusel tea cakes, mini opera cakes, chocolate dipped fruits and more. It's available for adults, children and seniors, making it a good spot for a family gathering on Mother's Day.
