Cafe Mosaics

A Whyte Avenue institution, Café Mosaics has been serving up farm fresh vegan and vegetarian cuisine since the 1990s. Serving all day breakfast, Café Mosaics definitely dominates the market for vegan brunch, with items ranging from house made granola and chia and coconut cream vegan pancakes to a terrific tofu scramble.

Noorish Cafe

Located on 109 Street, just north of Whyte Avenue, Noorish is an organic vegetarian and vegan restaurant with a superfood elixir bar, a teaching kitchen, a yoga and meditation studio and a retail store that sells vegetarian and vegan focused foods, books and supplements. Known throughout the city for their ridiculously delicious raw plant foods and, while they don’t actually serve brunch, many of their menu items are all day deliciousness. For brunch, try the vegan golden potato pancakes, a comforting sattva bowl, a Moroccan quinoa salad, a Shakti bar (a superfood granola bar) or one of their refreshing elixirs to start your day.

Sailin' On (Food Truck)

Edmonton’s only vegan food truck, Sailin’ On has made waves in the city for their crazy, delicious, vegan coconut bac’n. Try the famous BLT wrap with vegan mayo, coconut bac’n, lettuce, tomato and carrots (you can also get it with a gluten-free wrap). Also available is the chili lime tofu burrito; a wrap stuffed with refried beans, rice, vegan cheddar, chili lime tofu, cilantro and salsa verde. They also have amazing fries.

Wild Earth Bakery & Cafe

Wild Earth Bakery and Café makes some of the absolute best tea lattes in town. If brunch for you is a vegan latte, Wild Earth offers soy, almond and coconut milks for their lattes; you’ve got to try their unique twists on London Fogs. Plus, to go with that tasty latte, you can get a gladiator-style vegan fruit and seed bar or a vegan muffin, soup, salad, sausage roll or burrito.

The Buckingham

The Buckingham on Whyte is an eclectic Edmonton night spot, showcasing some of Edmonton's best live music and hosting a variety of fun and unique events, like an Archer (yes, the cartoon) Trivia Night. With an English pub vibe and a strictly vegan menu that transforms your favourite pub fare into fabulous vegan dishes, The Buckingham is definitely one of Edmonton's premier vegan destinations. Although they don't open until 3:00 p.m., go to The Buckingham to satisfy your brunch craving by devouring their infamous vegan chicken and waffles.

The new “it” food, cauliflower is a versatile vegetable that beautifully absorbs particularly spicy flavours like curries and chilies, making it an excellent appetizer in bothIndian and Mexican cuisine.
