Craft Cocktails in Calgary

Shaken, poured, muddled and mixed: Calgary has become a hot cocktail town. More and more restaurants are offering craft cocktails that pair perfectly with their food while cocktail bars are focusing on unique mixed drinks.

The Milk Tiger Lounge

A-1410 4 St SW, Calgary, AB T2R 0Y1

Milk Tiger is a bar like no other. Craft cocktails are front and center at this tiny lounge in downtown Calgary without a premade mix in sight. Don’t look for a huge sign; just a small white tiger.

Model Milk

307 17 Ave SW, Calgary, AB T2S 0A8

Along with its unique Canadian cuisine, Model Milk offers a great cocktail menu. Half of the drink list consists of cocktails unique to Model Milk and the other half features classic cocktails.

Raw Bar

119 12 Avenue SW, Calgary, AB T2R 0G8

Featuring classic cocktails from a bygone era, Raw Bar is a great place to visit when you want contemporary food and a cocktail that makes you feel like you’re a flapper.

Añejo Restaurant

2116 4th Street SW #2, Calgary, AB T2S 1W7

Offering 10 margarita options and four tequila cocktails, it is safe to say that Anejo focuses on tequila. However, the contemporary Mexican joint does “reluctantly offer” other spirits if you prefer.

Ox Bar De Tapas

528 17 Ave SW, Calgary, AB T2S 0B1

A long and varied list of cocktails, as well as a sherry list and a vermouth list, will meet with your approval at Ox and Angela. New meets old with inventive cocktails as well as twists on the traditional sour, margarita and julep.

On a cold, snowy Edmonton night, nothing says lovin’ like a cup of hot chocolate. It’s no surprise this drink was originally dubbed the “elixir of the gods.” Regardless of the variety you select, or whether you opt for the simplest hot chocolate on the menu, all I can say is ... don’t forget the marshmallows.
