Bar Bricco

This Italian sputini bar seats 30 lucky people, all of whom are probably indulging in some of the fabulous wines or digestifs offered. The wine list is massive, particularly the reds, and there is also a decent selection of craft beers and a handful of cocktails. Since Bar Bricco only serves light fare and drinks, it is the perfect spot for after-dinner drinks.

Tres Carnales Taqueria Ltd

They serve up sangria by the pitcher and cold beer with tacos, guacamole and salsa. This laid-back restaurant has a patio in the summer but is still full of people in the winter. Everyone comes for the awesome food but stays for the drinks and casual atmosphere.

Zinc Restaurant

Located inside the Art Gallery of Alberta, this restaurant is ideal for enjoying a bottle of wine after checking out an exhibit or seeing a show at the nearby Winspear Centre or Citadel Theatre. Zinc is big on wine – their list of wine available by the bottle is six pages long and broken down not only by sparkling, red and white but also by Old World and New World varieties.

Normand's Bistro

This beautiful, elegant restaurant is located on the main floor of the Citadel Theatre building downtown. It’s a great spot to enjoy a meal before a show but also the best place to have a cocktail or aperitif after – all while avoiding the post-show traffic exodus in the parking garage. The bistro is open later on Friday and Saturday nights to accommodate the weekend traffic downtown.

It’s located in the Mercer Building, near some businesses and cute retail shops, making it the best place to grab a drink after a hard day of work and/or shopping.
