How can you go wrong at a place that claims, "Bacon makes everything better"? Located in a down-at-the heels hotel about five minutes from downtown, the self-proclaimed quirky, unpretentious Spoons Diner has an extensive breakfast menu served fast by friendly staff. Even the dessert menu is breakfast in disguise, featuring French toast and pancake stacks. For those of you who partied too hard the night before and need a hair of the dog, you can breathe easy now. The Blue Fox Cafe

101-919 Fort St, Victoria, BC V8V 3K3

The Blue Fox has been serving all-day breakfast to the faithful since 1991, and it's obviously doing it right because the place is always packed. Located on Antique Row in Harris Green, it's well worth seeking out. Rest assured the menu offers the classics, but you can also experiment with less usual fare like eggs el jimador and bubble & squeak. Many of the sauces are made in-house, and the attention to detail is evident in every dish.

1150 Cook St, Victoria, BC V8V 3Z9

Pluto's is another Victoria legend. In business for almost 30 years, this iconic diner lives in an old gas station, the last remaining one of its type in Canada, in the Harris Green neighbourhood. Pluto's bread and butter is the classic bacon, eggs and home fries, and the equally classic omelette – you can't go wrong with these. If you're tired of lining up at the downtown breakfast hot spots, check out Pluto's.

John's Place Restaurant

723 Pandora Ave, Victoria, BC V8W 1N9

Another Victoria landmark, John's Place has been serving breakfast, lunch and dinner from its downtown location for 30 years. The breakfast menu is loaded with options, and the breads are made fresh in-house. Customers rave about the quality of the food and service, and it's clear why people just keep coming back.

Shine Cafe

1320 Blanshard St, Victoria, BC V8W 2J1

With two locations in downtown Victoria, this restaurant offers you twice as many chances to try Shine's delicious Eggs Benedict, a customer favourite. Shine has received many accolades and a visit from the Food Network's "You Gotta Eat Here," and for good reason. There's something for everyone on the menu, including vegans and light eaters, and the service is fast and excellent.

Floyd's Diner

866 Yates St, Victoria, BC V8W 1L8

Floyd's has been part of the Victoria food scene on Yates Street since 2004, and in 2012, it opened a second location in Langford, just to spread the delicious love. Its signature dish, which isn't really one dish, is the Mahoney. When you order the Mahoney, take note since the cooks make whatever they want for you. Gimmicks aside, the people of Victoria love Floyd's.
