Memphis Blues Bbq House

430 Robson St, Vancouver, BC V6B 0H3

A perennial favourite, Memphis Blues has long been a magnet for Vancouver carnivores. Serving a wide range of southern-style barbecue dishes, they offer some of the most tender and delightfully messy ribs in town. Enjoy them on their own or as part of a massive party platter that’s guaranteed to leave you and your crew quite satisfied.

Country Rds Bbq

2 Water St, Vancouver, BC V6B 1A4

Vancouver’s food scene is pretty competitive, but Peckinpah has kept a leg up. Located in the heart of Gastown, this Carolina-style barbecue joint smokes their own meats and makes some of the finest pork ribs to be found in the city. They use a variety of white oak, alder and applewood to infuse their meat with a unique, but familiar flavour combination.

The Re-Up BBQ

750 Hornby St, Vancouver, BC V6Z 2H7

Re-Up BBQ started out as a food cart and was one of the first restaurants to benefit from Vancouver's bylaw changes regarding street food vendors. They’ve since moved into a proper storefront, where they provide some of the most amazing lip-smacking and tender barbecue ribs in the Lower Mainland. It’s definitely worth the trip.

The Flying Pig

104-1168 Hamilton St, Vancouver, BC V6B 2S2

Most people automatically think southern barbecue when they think of ribs, but over at Flying Pig they take the European approach. Braised in red wine, the ribs become incredibly tender and fall right off the bone, just the way they’re supposed to. Flying Pig goes the extra mile, accompanying their ribs with bone marrow and a white cheddar mash, a combination you won’t forget.

Damso Modern Korean Cuisine

867 Denman St, Vancouver, BC V6G 2L9

Southern-style barbecue may get all the press, but Korean barbecue reigns supreme in Vancouver. Damso offers some of the very best Korean grub around. This little spot on Denman serves up awesome Korean tapas, barbecue and, of course, short ribs that are succulent and delicious. Be sure to pop in next time you’re visiting the West End.

Guu Kobachi

735 Denman St, Vancouver, BC V6G 2L6

If you're out late exploring Vancouver’s nightlife, drop in for a snack and a cocktail or two at Guu Kobachi. Izakayas have become a huge hit in Vancouver and Guu is one of the originators. Order their pork side ribs to satisfy your late-night cravings. You'll be amazed at the simplicity and unforgettable flavour.

Peaceful Restaurant

43 5th Ave E, Vancouver, BC V5T 1G7

Now that Peaceful has been featured on Food Network’s Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, finding a place to sit in this popular Chinese restaurant might be tricky. Fortunately, there are now two locations and they also offer takeout, so you have more options to sample their three types of delicious pork ribs, along with some yummy noodles and soup.

Roaming Dragon

1441 Clark Dr, Vancouver, BC V5L 3K9

When City Hall changed the rules for street food vendors, Roaming Dragon was just the kind of concept they were hoping to avail. Serving amazing Asian-inspired dishes, their Korean short rib tacos are some of the best snacks in town.

Café Medina

780 Richards St, Vancouver, BC V6B 3A4

On those early Saturday mornings following a late night out, head to Medina to cure the hangover blues and satisfy a craving for ribs. Located on Richards Street, Medina doesn’t mess around when it comes to their breakfast menu. The eggs, potato and barbecued ribs combo is a big favourite among carnivores, making it well worth the effort it took to roll out of bed.
