Nachos Montrealers won't want to share

Montrealers love to share food with friends. Nachos are a great dish to eat over a few beers or while drinking tequilas with your posse — although most of the time you may end up hogging the platter to yourself. If that’s the case, these restaurants are for you.

Lola Rosa Parc

1
4581 av du parc, Montréal, QC H2V 4E4

Lola Rosa is well known for their vegetarian comfort food, which vegetarians and meat eaters both adore. One of their most popular dishes is their famous Lola Nachos, available in a full or half portion. The balance of nachos, mozzarella, black beans, tomatoes, peppers, avocados and onions is simply perfection. They are a must try if you find yourself near the McGill campus.

Restaurant Manana

2
3605, rue Saint-Denis, Montréal, QC H2X 3L6

Mañana restaurant on Sherbrook Street East serves up some delicious Mexican food and the nachos are no exception. Their rendition is called the Chilaquiles Con Pollo and includes chicken with salsa and lots of melted cheese. These nachos are not spicy, so they’ll satisfy the tame palates in your group.

Mesa 14

3
1425, rue Bishop, Montréal, QC H3G 2E4

The Nachos Del Partòn at Mesa 14 will blow your mind. The tortilla chips are homemade, and you can choose from a wide array of toppings, such as grilled chicken, chorizo, beef, jalapeños and peppers. Enjoy your favourite nacho platter with one of their delicious raspberry mojitos. This place is great for a casual night out with friends.

Le Roi Du Taco

4
232, rue Jean-Talon E, Montréal, QC H2R 1S7

El Rey Del Taco serves up some of the most authentic and delicious Mexican food in Montreal. Their Supreme Nachos are the perfect mix of beef, cheese, sour cream, cilantro and onions, served for a very reasonable price. It’s a must-stop shop if you are roaming the Jean-Talon market. Their tacos are also very noteworthy, as is the guacamole

Réservoir

5
9, av Duluth E, Montréal, QC H2W 1G7

This Duluth Street East brasserie serves up nachos that are as wonderful as its rooftop view. Reservoir’s corn chip nachos feature some atypical ingredients — Kalamata olives, marinated onions, corn salsa, and lime yogurt — along with the standard cheddar cheese and jalapenos, and are all the yummier for it. They come to the table sizzling in a small skillet.

Hurley's Irish Pub

6
1225 rue Crescent, Montréal, QC H3G 2B1

You might not naturally think of an Irish pub for nachos, but Hurley’s puts forward a strong platter, available in full and half portions. Thick, circular chips are covered with gooey cheese and standard nacho veggies, with optional add-ons of jalapenos, guacamole and spicy chicken pieces. The atmosphere is warm and relaxed, and a perfect stop if you find yourself near Concordia’s downtown campus.

Café Mezcal

7
156, rue Prince-Arthur E, Montréal, QC H2X 1B7

This authentic Mexican taqueria on the Prince Arthur pedestrian strip serves up some very reasonably-priced nachos and other yummy dishes, with plenty of vegetarian options. The corn chip nachos come with bean and Mexican sauces and cheese, and your choice of pulled pork, chicken or beef. Cafe Mezcal’s Gringas also come well-reviewed.
