The best pizza delivery in downtown Toronto

Pizza: it’s the staple of food delivery and go-to for a quick but gourmet treat. These downtown spots can quickly curtail your cravings, but many of them go beyond the pie, offering a slew of Italian classics and a wide variety of deliverables. [Image credit: iStock.com/SolisImages]

King Slice

1
1130 Queen Street, Toronto, ON L4Y 4C5

Behold on of Queen West’s most beloved pizzerias for a late-night, foot-long slice (the downtown spot is open til 4:30 on the weekends and serves up its extra-long slices on not one, but two plates). But King Slice is also a prime option for pizza delivery, alongside offering other Ital options like pasta al forno and saucy sandwiches. Addition location at Bloor and Dundas West for hungry west enders ;)

San Francesco Foods

2
10 Clinton St, Toronto, ON M6J 2N8

San Francesco recently added a store on Queen West near Bathurst, but the original on Clinton Street has been a Little Italy fixture for more than 60 years. My parents used to buy their signature sandwiches there and then eat them at the neighbouring bar. There’s a full list of meats and vegetables, but the veal with eggplant and hot peppers wins every time. Be advised: the sandwiches are huge, so you probably won’t need much else.

North of Brooklyn Pizzeria

3
650 1/2 Queen St W, Toronto, ON M6J 1E4

North of the real Brooklyn is Manhattan, where thin-crust New-York-style pizza originated. Toronto pizzeria North of Brooklyn riffs on the coy directional cue, proving that Canadians can do Neapolitan pies proper too. The Kale and Bacon is a hit, preferably with olives added. Deliveries are made by bike, so keep this in mind regarding the timing of your order.

Pizza Gigi

4
189 Harbord St, Toronto, ON M5S 1H5

Easily the best pizza one can order at 3:30 am in Toronto. Pizza Gigi’s delivery zone is roughly bounded by King to the south, Lansdowne to the west, St. Clair to the north and Jarvis to the east. Hot tip: the go-to spot accepts cash only, so make sure your dollars and cents are counted before your late night delivery.

Ciccio's Pizza And Pasta

5
796 Dundas St W, Toronto, ON M6J 1V1

An old-school Italian joint, Ciccio’s is known for its hearty pasta dishes, delivered piping hot, even on the late-night. Favourites include the penne putanesca and Spaghetti Mastriciana, although their meatballs (included in the Spaghetti con Poplettini) are great too.

Pizza Rustica Inc

6
8-270 Wellington St W, Toronto, ON M5V 3P5

A favourite of celebrities – given it close proximity to the Rogers Centre and ACC – Pizza Rustica’s margerhita and signature Rustica pizzas are outstanding. The pastas are also huge crowd-pleasers, specifically the seafood or jambalaya linguine, and the braised beef ravioli. Hot tip: the bresaola and arugula appetizer is a must-try if you’re dining in.

Pizzaiolo Gourmet Pizza

7
416 Bloor St W, Toronto, ON M5S 1X5

In terms of more traditional phone-up delivery options, Pizzaiolo’s selection has something for everyone. From the meat-heavy Godfather to the vegetarian Primavera and the eclectic Thai Pie, all bases are covered. Got a huge group of people to feed? Pizzaiolo stands out as the best of the local big-chain delivery spots.
