There may be other things on your agenda when you book your stay at the Sheraton, but be sure to include time for the water park. You’ll find two, 250-foot water slides as well as a large main pool and hot tub for post-swim soaking. You can also grab nachos or a drink at the nearby snack bar.

Killarney Aquatic & Recreation Centre

1919 29 Street SW, Calgary, AB T3E 2J7

This public facility offers a range of aquatic activities, fitness lessons and general relaxation for all age groups. An indoor, 25-metre saltwater pool is the main hub with six lanes available for lessons or swimming laps in temperatures of up to 30°C. There’s a dive pool with a one-metre springboard and a saltwater hot tub-whirlpool for soothing those aching muscles. Purchase single-visit tickets or economical, multi-visit passes.

With so many different water-based activities, it’s hard to know where to start – or when to leave.

The wave pool is always a great time, and the water slides are perfect after a hard workout on the rowing machines in the adjoining fitness centre. A refurbishment plan in 2016 will bring further upgrades, though operating schedules may be affected.

Aqua fitness classes, parent and tot classes and public swimming sessions are available for a daily fee or on a continuous pass basis. These include access to gym and fitness facilities and the climbing wall.
