Vancouver restaurants serving Thanksgiving dinner

Want to enjoy a traditional turkey dinner over the holiday weekend but dreading spending hours in the kitchen? Why not enjoy a stress-free Thanksgiving this year and let someone else take care of all the cooking and (more importantly) the clean-up. Here are some local Vancouver restaurants that’ll be serving up turkey dinners with all the trimmings.[Photo of Railtown Catering courtesy of  Jelger + Tanja photography]

Teahouse Restaurant

7501 Stanley Park Dr, Vancouver, BC V6G 3E2

Switch up your traditional Thanksgiving plans this year and enjoy picturesque views of the water from this iconic spot in Stanley Park. The Teahouse will be offering a three-course, $39 prix-fixe menu over the holiday weekend, along with a reduced version of its a-la-carte menu. Start with a harvest salad and then enjoy oven-roasted turkey with herbed potatoes, butternut squash, green beans, carrots and apple-apricot stuffing, all served with a side of port cranberry sauce and gravy. For dessert, opt for pumpkin brûlée or raspberry sorbet.

Railtown Catering

300-395 Railway St, Vancouver, BC V6A 1A4

Feeling panicked about volunteering to host Thanksgiving this year? Don’t sweat it. It’s easy to fool your friends and family with a ready-made meal from the award-winning chefs at Railtown Catering. Order a Thanksgiving-to-Go package (which serves eight to 10 adults) and feast on a 16-lb sage-roasted turkey and an array of festive trimmings, including dried apricot and chestnut stuffing, mashed Yukon gold potatoes, maple-glazed sweet potatoes, Brussels sprouts and classic pumpkin pie for dessert. Best of all, partial proceeds from the take-home package are used to provide meals for Mission Possible, a non-profit on the Downtown Eastside.

Bacchus Restaurant & Lounge

845 Hornby St, Vancouver, BC V6Z 1V1

This Wedgewood Hotel's upscale restaurant is once again offering its Thanksgiving dinner on October 8, 9 and 10. The elegant dining room – adorned with oil paintings, plush banquettes and roaring fireplaces – is a sophisticated spot to enjoy the multi-course spread ($80 per person). Start with maple roasted parsnip soup or opt for a green salad with roasted beets and goat cheese. The main event – roast turkey with cranberry and red apple cabbage – is accompanied by whipped potatoes, sprouts and gravy. Spiced pumpkin pie and candied pecan granola with chantilly cream concludes this indulgent spread.

White Spot

2518 Broadway W, Vancouver, BC V6K 2G1

Want to keep things casual and budget friendly? Roast turkey is always on the menu at this family-friendly West Coast chain, which offers comfortable booth seating and a special kids menu served in a playful Pirate Pak boat. White Spot’s classic roast turkey dinner comes with all the fixin’s – mashed potatoes, home-style stuffing, seasonal veggies, gravy and cranberry sauce – all for a very reasonable price. Best of all, there’s plenty of alternative options on the extensive menu for those who’d prefer to skip the turkey and chow down on teriyaki chicken or a bacon cheddar burger.

Boulevard Kitchen & Oyster Bar

845 Burrard St, Vancouver, BC V6Z 2K6

Swap your apron for something a little more formal and enjoy a dressed-up Thanksgiving dinner at Boulevard Kitchen & Oyster Bar. The Burrard Street dining room offers a chic, elegant ambiance and a beautiful three-course holiday menu ($68 per guest) to match. Start with a bowl of maple roasted butternut squash soup followed by slow-roasted turkey accompanied by apricot and pine nut stuffing, mashed potatoes, sprouts and cranberry sauce. Finish with homemade apple pie and vanilla ice cream. Turkey dinner service will be available on Sunday, October 9 and Monday, October 10. Dishes are also available à la carte.

Yew Seafood + Bar

791 Georgia St W, Vancouver, BC V6C 2T4

You might not think of seafood when you think of Thanksgiving dinner, but Yew’s spectacular Thanksgiving dinner menu (available October 9 and 10) is definitely worth your attention. For $69 per person, guests can enjoy a fall feast featuring classic fall fare and tempting fish and seafood options. Appetizers range from acorn squash bisque to scallops with butternut squash rotolo. For your entrée, choose classic or stuffed turkey breast with all the sides, or go rogue with roasted ling cod or steelhead with black truffle gnocchi. Seasonal desserts like pumpkin pie and apple ginger pie make an excellent finish.

Head to Robson Street to get an early jump on your holiday shopping and stop in for a festive meal afterwards at this downtown mainstay. Joe Fortes is offering a three-course Thanksgiving menu for both lunch and dinner on Monday, October 10.
