My boyfriend and I have visited Akasaka a few times now and have enjoyed every dining experience here. Although the owner is Chinese, he has studied in Japan and the chefs are Japanese. We agree that they serve up the best rolls in Richmond Hill. During our most recent visit here a couple of weeks ago, we enjoyed their 10 tation roll (unbelievably delicious lobster roll deep fried!), Crown Royal Roll (fois gras, eel, caviar & gold glitter), Super Rainbow (soft shell crab), and a few pieces of nigiri. Some of their rolls look questionable ('Thai' Passion, 'Korean' kim-chee roll), and being of Japanese descent, I avoided these. Thai/Korean twists should not be mixed or confused with Japanese rolls - surely they serve these to cater to Koreans and people who enjoy Thai food. We strictly stick to their rolls (and make an exception to some nigiri). Not every Japanese restaurant does well with bringing in top quality sashimi. The waiter did not bring us our dry noodle sticks which they bring to every table at no cost. We had to ask and later remind them twice. My boyfriend ordered us the green tea creme brulee for dessert as he enjoys it very much. The serving is very small, however it is quite delicious. Our bill came to approx $78 (no alcohol). The rolls are not cheap, but you pay to get top quality here. All the rolls we had were excellent - among my favourites were the 10 tation & Crown Royal rolls. If you've had them, you will understand what I mean. They are killer! The teppanyaki here is also very popular, as evidenced by the occupied tables. We however don't do teppanyaki, as you pay for the show. The food is not spectacular and if you're coming to a Japanese restaurant which is well-known for its rolls, its these items which one should stick with. Read more

Went for lunch at Sushi Ginza due to the great ratings on here. I am glad I went. The place was not busy at all and my friend and I got a table quickly. I had the sashimi salad lunch special and my friend had the Sushi Roll lunch special. Each special came with tempera chips, 2 pieces of calamari, 2 pieces of salmon type roll, a potato croquette, and fruits. I also ordered the torpedo roll (smoke salmon, tempera shrimp, tataki tuna) which is really delicious name maybe right. The sashimi salad was really yummy. Big portion all around. My spouse and I are here 2 to 3 times a week. That's how much we love Sapporo. We always order the same thing (salmon bento). Salmon Sashimi is always fresh, the spicy handrolls are spicy and very good. The eel sushi is excellent. Do not expect fast service especially during dinner time, or Friday/Saturday. I come to this place because it is close proximity to where I live. The atmosphere of this place is amazing. There are booths set up like Japanese-styled rooms, jazz music is played in the background (okay not authentic, but meh), the chopsticks are placed in either bamboo boxes or in mini-kimonos. The food, well, it really depends on what your order. I give top marks to the rolls they have, and I especially recommend the Toronto and Monster rolls, those two are unique in their own ways. I didn't like their sushi and sashimis, found their fish rather not fresh. The ramen and udons are excellent. Tempura is a no-go. Service-wise is quite wishy washy due to a lack of staff, especially if you're sitting by the booths. The ring for service technique is ineffective; even I can't tell how the mechanism will notify waitresses that you need assistance. They are very friendly though. Will I visit again? Yes, of course. Food: Last week was my first time trying Koganei so I didn't get to try lots of food. However, Koganei roll was one of the best roll I ever had. it's bit pricey for a roll (almost $15 with tax) but it's worth it. I do not know exactly what's in the roll (it's shrimp tempura roll with some little bit spicy orange-red stuff with tiny fish eggs on the top) but it was amazing. (I wish red stuff on the top was more spicier though.) I also tried miso base noodle soup (noodles and veggies in miso soup) which was salty for my taste. did not really like it. Service: wait staffs were nice and helpful. when i went, there weren't many people in the restaurant so i didn't have to wait long to order and get my food.
