Remember the scene in Pleasantville where the people who didn't want to be in colour and felt they were safe because "Thank God they are in a bowling alley." This could have been that bowling alley. With a vast tract of land in the Eastern stretches of Vancouver the Pacific National Exhibition is an institution. I hope they never leave these grounds and I hope the days of speculating about moving the fair to the burbs are over. With Playland operating all summer long and offering Fright Nights through to Halloween it is great to have an amusement park so close to the city centre. And then there is the fair. We make it a point to go as a family every year and our child loves it so much she starts talking about it in the spring. This year we bought a season's pass and ended up going 7 times to enjoy the free concerts, the lumberjack show, the farm, the rides, the pig races and just the overall merriment of the place. In fact...I don't think I can wait for next year's PNE!
