We stopped in on Friday night to grab a coffee and decided to have a piece of cake. Although the cakes are not made there they are absolutely to die for. I got the white hot chocolate which was amazing, although you did have to stir it fairly often to keep the hot chocolate mix from settling out of it. We went for dinner recently as we live in the area and love the Wooly for its atmosphere, choice of beers on tap etc....I just really wish that the food was better..as I remain quite surprised at the overall 'averageness' of the entrees here. Yes, they use locally grown, organic ingredients...I get and support that..but the portion size and flavour leave me unimpressed. Service is always great...and the beer is plentiful and cold...but I think I'll just start going there for beers and maybe fries (which can be hit and miss)...there are just much better places close by (IMO) to get a better pub meal. I will say that of our three meals...mine was the best..a traditional chicken burger with salad..the house dressing was nice. Based on our experience I would not recommend the Cobb salad (very small portion and was drenched in ranch dressing) or the chicken tenders which were just average. Read more

we went for a friend's birthday dinner. her and her bf love the place. they talk about it all the time. i have heard mixed reviews about the place. going online and checking out menu didn't look too appealing to me. regular food with a high price and over stuffed with "expensive" words for simple ingredients i had a glass of the Chardonnay from usa. excellent should have order 1.2 liter. i shared the sicilian mussel except made not spicy (don't like spicy food). the broth has aromatic and delightful. nice tomatoes, olives and onion broth. mussels were plump and tasty. the table bread was amazing. i usually steer away from bread because it is dry and garbage. but this was warm, soft and fluffy in the middle with a slight chew and crispy on outside. i ordered the shrimp and scallop carciofi (fettucine) made without cream and with tomato instead. the pasta was cooked perfectly, scallops a bit fishy, shrimps were poached perfectly. a bit too much tomato but im a bigger fan of cooked pasta perfect el dente. people sitting around me ordered veggie gnocchi (she loved it), short rib gnocchi (he wolfed it down and wanted more), prosciutto fuselli (she said pasta was amazing too slow portion and prosciutto tasted like bacon, pork chop dinner (thought it was amazing), smoked chicken el la vodka (he said was ok). food was good better than i expected. a bit over priced but it was a friend's birthday.
