This is some of the best Pub food I have had in a very long time! We ate on the roof top patio. I do not recomend this for anyone not in good shape because it is a long hike up. I was huffing and puffing by the time we got up there! The drink options are limited up there and I recommend getting bottled beer as by the time the draft travels 4 stories up the pipes it is a little flat and warm. But on the other floors there are full service bars if this is an issue for you. Our waiters were very nice and attentive. The food arrived promptly. Considering some poor guy had to carry it up 4 stories, it was still a good temperature. I was expecting it to be a little cool but it was perfect. The food was all fresh and look lovely! I am going back next weekend to try some of the other menu items. But will be staying on the ground floor. I am too old for all those stairs!! Read more

The first thing i notice when i walked into POGUE MAHONES was that all the waitresses wore plaid thigh-length skirts - i am glad i arrived here! It is a kind of dark place with dark wood all over. Also it is a very busy and noisy place, i can barely hear myself talking. The waiters/waitresses were very attentive as they came back every once in awhile to check on our needs a few times. All of our food arrive fresh and hot. My coffee was fresh and scalding hot, it came in a generous sized mug too. My seafood chowder was hot and it was very creamy, not bad! My chicken wings were satisfactory, no complaints here! Okay now my Grand Spuds with irish-poutine-style sucked!!! The fries had melted cheese and gravy on top, but the freshcut homemade fries, tasted totally off. My friend who had fries in his dish also complained about the fries tasting YUCK! My other friends were very satisfied with their dishes (fish n chips, liver n onions w mashed potato, chicken pot pie w mashed potatoes, jambalaya). Good service, satisfactory food, unpleasant atmosphere (too noisy)... would i visit again? i dont think i will. Overall satisfactory! Read more

The service was exceptional! There is one girl there who has been there for quite some time now...she really knows what she is doing! She's as friendly as can be and always remembers you! I suggest going on a lunch hour...(she doesn't work nights) The food is pub food, so don't expect something classy...it's a good place to go get some good eats and good beer. The salads though, are huge...and SO tastey!! The fajita beef salad is the best! I suggest going on your lunch hour, ordering a salad, and hoping for ...Sara? or Tara...I can't remember her name... All in all, a good place for a good time. Read more

This is a really neat Aussie/Kiwi themed place I was introduced to on new years eve and it turned out to be great! The food was excellent quality for a pub and well prepared, as well as reasonably priced. Definitely a good spot to spend the evening with good friends. Read more

Great food, great prices, great atmosphere (whether inside or on the patio), great service! What more can I say? I love the variety of the daily specials as well. The one problem is the rude, older gentleman server with the goatee-like facial hair. He's rude and sarcastic, but I try to avoid his section! Read more

when the staff are more fun than your friends... Food is typical pub fare; generous helping for a good price. they have good drink special especially on thurs and sundays. the atmosphere really depends on the night: I've been there during the week when it was really mellow, and then the weekends get crazy busy! The service is pretty standard, but in the summer on the AMAZING roof top patio, the staff really run around like mad. Great spot to spend in the summer Read more

The nachos are to die for, and I don't even like nachos very much. The menu was severely limited due to the incredible business that is Pride Week, and I was at a stretch finding something vegetarian and to my liking. After being told that they were accepting no substitutions (understandably, but I just wanted no mayo and onion on the veggie burger), I went with my second choice, the curry. I wasn't expecting much, but it succeeded my expectations. Not fantastic and it needed more than a sprinkle of salt, but pleasant nonetheless. Co-diners raved about their nachos and pulled pork. Service was a bit scattered due to business, but were very friendly. When a beer was brought to our table that wasn't ordered -- but welcomed! -- he let us have it on the house. Blanche de Chambly on tap, fantastic! Read more
