I was in Shakey's a year ago and it has completely changed, I visited recently with some girlfriends and we had a fantastic meal. The owner has renovated the entire place to give it a 2010 pub look and has still kept the theme of a sports bar. Good job on the reno's, the menu looks great with some of the typical sports pub food such as nachos, hamburgers and wings. However the rest of the menu is quite amazing, from my understanding the waitress mentioned that Chris is a new addition to the staff and is the brother of the owner. He actually is coming from fine dining and is now helping run the kitchen. I will be back again and this time were bringing our husbands. Read more

The crust was thin and perfectly crispy, with a slight char that hinted at the traditional wood-fired baking method. I'm not sure what these other people are talking about because I think this place is amazing. They have three locations now, and as a loyal customer, I have visited all of them. Each atmosphere is a little different, the most recent addition at Yonge/Eglinton (Piazzetta #3) is the nicest. More importantly, the food is consistently amazing, not to mention inexpensive. My guests and I have never been disappointed. The pastas are always fresh and the pizzas are always perfectly thin and remind me so much of my trip to Italy. My favourites are the Calamari, Penne Primavera and Arugala Salad. But I also love the funghi pizza (which ALWAYS has lots of mushrooms). My partner loves the grilled salmon and veal chop entrees.
