I loved the food at Golden Bell. Newmarket has a lot of Thai restaurants and while most of them are good, I feel this one greatly stands out as the best. They have a very inexpensive lunch menu and a quaint dining room if you don't opt for take-out. The service is nothing spectacular as far as dining in goes but it is passable. I will make this my first choice for Thai food. Read more

Wow ! What a great place to eat and have a good time. The food was delicious and and restaurant is beautiful now ! I was here for a party last week we had so much fun. They had music, people danced , great singer !! Our waiter made us laugh and is really good looking too . Today, March 20, 2014, this Resturant gave me great service and helped me out with an unusual order. I called them from White Rock BC at 07:50 and asked if there was any possible way they could get Tim Bits (the sour cream ones are my favorite) to my buddy who for the past two weeks, has been house bound following serious surgery. Twenty minutes later my buddy texts me a picture of him and his dog chowing down on TimBits. AWSOME! This used to be one my main restaurants to eat but lately ive been trying some new places. Decided to go back yesterday and was reminded how good this place was! Got the half jerk chicken meal for take-out and was very pleased. A mountain of rice and beans completely covered on top with very tasty chicken. We are Maids Cottage regulars and have rarely if ever been disappointed. The food is as close to home cooked as you will ever get in any restaurant, in any city, anywhere in the world. We're not talking Haute Cuisine here but Comfort Food.
