(Cost $4.50) Imagine the "foodie" waiting 40 minutes for that Western Sandwich with a parched throat because of no coffee refill. But still, "foodie" gives the sandwich a 3. Let me say this: No one has ever waied 49 minutes for a Western Sandwich at the Mosely Street Grill, or has waited 40 minutes for a coffee refill, at least since the new owners took over. Wouldn;t it be great for the new owners if their servers were run off their feet and their cooks were so busy that it took 40 minutes to get a Western Sandwich out of the kitchen. Soon folks like the "foodie" will need a reservation. Or just a nice lie?

This restaurant is a MUST TRY!! We ordered the tasting menu (don't forget to give 24 hrs notice), it was absolutely incredible. Pricey but worth it! The portion sizes were huge, we could barely make it out the door.
The wait staff is incredible, we were asked upon arrival what our preferred pace for eating was, quick or nice and easy....who does that? Most restaurants want you in and OUT!
I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant, incredible food, service, atmosphere, and attention to detail! Barrie has about 7 good restaurants....this one's near the top!!

One of my favorite restaurants in Barrie. We've been here many times for many special occasions. We always enjoy the food and experience every time we go. Today we tried his brunch menu and it was really good as well. We had the Eggs Benny and Breakfast Poutine, along with a side of the homemade onion and apple sausages. Delicious. A no frills restaurant with really good food. I had brisket on a bun with horseradish and coleslaw, my friend had peameal bacon on a bun with a fried egg and french fries. Our food was hot, tasty and the portions were generous, we just put our heads down and went to work, good coffee too. I'll be going back.

I work in customer service, so I understand that things don't always go as planned. It is how an establishment deals with their mistakes that really shows how good they are , in my humble opinion.
We go to Swiss Chalet all the time, the food is always hot and delicious and up to the Swiss Chalet Standard, the service is usually pretty good, quick for sure and the restaurant smells good and is clean.
We often order take out from this location, and we have had a few problems, orders not being filled correctly, no gravy for the poutine, little things like that. One time we ordered and they called back 30 minutes later to tell us there was a snow storm and the delivery person went home!
Needless to say I complained. I got a personal response from the Manager appologizing for our bad experience and comping us for two 1/4 chicken dinners! WOW, I thought that was just great. I get that mistakes are made, but I have never had anyone take responsibility and compensate me so quickly and politely! Since then we have ordered a few times and we haven't had anymore problems.

I have taken my 8 year old daughter there on several occasions for supper. Every time we eat well, are treated well and get to relax and actually enjoy each others company. Although they're famous for their chicken, we'll be going back for their fish (and maybe try the chicken for my 'no way I'm eating fish' husband). My son and I were looking for a quick bite for lunch after doing some shopping at the nearby Scholars Choice and found this place. Smelled soo good. As we didn't see a lot of prices or labels, my son ordered the Portuguese sausage sandwich and I lingered over the windows filled with mountains of fish, rice, potatoes and was served by a very pleasant and helpful young man. I asked about a particular dish and ended up ordering the amazing looking and super delicious cod with a side of potatoes, The server put two layers of potatoes in a good sized container, covered it with the huge portion of cod and then he began spooning a loving amount of the yummy sauce over the dish. As it really isn't a sit down place, we were hungry and ate there. I paid less than $20 and was in heaven. My son enjoyed his sausage but will definitely order the cod next time. Was surprised to read about 'grumpy' servers. Ours even thanked us for coming on our way out. Maybe because it was in the early Friday afternoon, we saw that customers were served quickly (looked like they ordered huge quantities ahead) and courteously. Definitely going back for that cod. Pssst...I overhead the guy tell someone its only available Fridays and Saturdays.
