My boyfriend and I lined up here for lunch earlier this month (2nd visit), and had their miso (medium) ramen and he had the shio ramen. We both chose fatty pork which comes with the ramen for added flavour. There are always line-ups outside their door and you can't help but think it must be good if there are a dozen other ramen shops in the same vicinity with zero line-ups at others! They are extremely busy. If you are parking, expect to put enough coins in the meter to stay at least 1.5 hours (line-up time, wait time after ordering, eat time). They are a Japanese run shop with all-Japanese staff, and have the best ramen I have ever had. Next time, I will have their miso ramen (again) with their heavy base for more richness in the broth. Stay away from their gyoza, however. They buy this frozen from a supermarket and it tastes cheap. Read more

Gotta love the Wrap Zone. They serve up wrap sandwiches with tasty ingredients and combinations to suit any palate. My particular favourites are the Thai Tanic with Chicken and the Bombay Curry with protein. The service is what you would expect in a quik-serve restaurant as is the decor and atmosphere. They are a little hard to find since they are below street level but once you visit once you'll know exactly where they are when you return for more! Just writing this makes me hungry to head to the Wrap Zone tomorrow! maybe you should to. Read more

Japanese and Sushi Restaurants in Pemberton Plaza North Vancouver BC

Sushi, miso soup, rice dumplings, there is so much to consider when choosing the ideal Japanese or sushi restaurant.  Before you base your choice solely on the menu plastered outside of a sushi bar or from someone you just met off the street, here are some simple tips to guide your stomach to the best Japanese cuisine in Pemberton Plaza North Vancouver BC.

Tips on how to find Japanese and sushi restaurants in Pemberton Plaza North Vancouver BC

  • Japanese restaurant reviews: Online and newspaper Japanese restaurant reviews in the food or lifestyle section are your best tools when trying to find top sushi bars in Pemberton Plaza North Vancouver BC. Most reviews rate Japanese restaurants by atmosphere, portion size, price and service. These independent reviewers have no one to please but their finicky tastes for all things from the land of the rising sun.
  • The concierge always knows: If you are travelling in a new city, your hotel’s concierge or the hotel staff will be able to find Japanese restaurants that suit your taste buds and budget. The concierge will be able to lead you in the right direction and even place a reservation for you or a takeout order for delivery.
  • What you’re looking for: Authentic Japanese restaurants and sushi bars serve raw seafood and rice inspired dishes. Typical dishes include rice dumplings, tofu, shellfish meals and sake. If you are looking for a particular Japanese dining experience or all you can eat sushi, call the establishment ahead of time and ask if they serve your favourite dishes.
  • Ask the neighbourhood: Most local seafood and wine vendors deal directly with the Japanese restaurants and grills in your neighbourhood. Ask them about the restaurants and bars they deal with and the kinds of meals they serve.
