What a fantastic little eatery for a casual bite. Fantastic selection of nibblies and an even better selection of beers from around the world. A definite must for anyone looking to chill out in a funky downtown spot. Expect to wait on busy nights, I've been there twice now and each time had to wait 10 minutes for a table but the wait is worth every second...not to mention that they will bring you your first drink order to sip while you wait for a table to come free. The Manager was extremely gracious and refunded my entire entre (27 dollars), and 3 beers. We had the crab cakes and a salad to start and we both so enjoyed the sabelfish entree. It was one of the best sablelfish fish I have ever had, it was so moist and served overall in a healthy manner. We shared their chocolate molten cake dessert which was gooey good. Just as we were about to leave we noticed live music at 9pm so we stayed a little more longer to enjoy with some hot drinks. I'm at Melriches at least 3 times a week, sometimes 5, depending if I wake up early enough and have time. I love this place, and have been going here for the last 6 years. The coffee is from Bean around the World and is delicious, the atmosphere is great, the music is always interesting, and the food! Everything is made fresh, and the muffins are incredible. People don't realize they can make full breakfasts in that little kitchen area, but they do! The owners are sweethearts and the baristas are always laid back and friendly. The place can get a little cramped at times, but it's because everyone and their dogs go there. They have a patio in the back which is great for dog owners, and they have a community board with all sorts of postings. They showcase art from local artists, and sometimes even have open mics!
