Because these natural beauty products are ones that you put together yourself, you know exactly what you're putting on your skin and you may even save money.

4 beauty products you can make at home

1. Natural bubble bath

  • The simplicity of this recipe makes it a good one to start with. Use four cups of distilled water or boil enough tap water to end up with four cups. Mix the water with one cup of Castile soap or other all-natural dishwashing liquid.
  • Add the mixture as you're filling the tub.
  • After filling, if you'd like, add a few drops of essential oils, such as lemon, eucalyptus or lavender.

2. Oatmeal face mask

  • Mix together a quarter-cup of plain oatmeal, a quarter-cup of water and some honey until you get a sticky paste.
  • Use your fingers to apply the mixture liberally on your face, but try to avoid eating it because it is tasty.
  • Wait about 15 minutes, and then rinse off the mask with warm water. There's no need for a second rinse with facial soap. Just dry your face and enjoy the healthy glow.

3. Avocado moisturizer

  • Use a fully ripe avocado and cut it in half. Remove the skin and pit, and put the remaining fruit in a small bowl.
  • With a fork, mash and mix into a cream.
  • Use either your fingers or a cotton ball to apply to your face.
  • The substance may take as long as 15 minutes to be absorbed into the skin. Wash off what is remaining.

4. Vinegar hair rinse

  • You can use white vinegar, wine vinegar or apple cider vinegar to rinse the shampoo out of your hair. Mix vinegar and water in a two-to-one ratio, with one cup of vinegar with two cups of water. If that seems too strong, use half a cup of vinegar instead.
  • After you wash with your regular shampoo, massage the rinse into your hair and scalp, and let it sit for a couple of minutes. Then either rinse your hair completely or leave the mixture on.
  • Once it dries, it should no longer smell like vinegar.
  • Limit your use to two or three times a week to prevent drying.
