Burned their last chance

We've given this place a lot of chances. However, the food and the price are such a huge mismatch that I don't think we can go back again. We went on July 1, but the place was only half full, so that wasn't the problem. Harrison has fireworks on July 1, so we had purposely made late reservations, and the owner knew when she took the reservation that we wanted to stay for the fireworks. Unfortunately, the fireworks are at 10, and at 9:15 we were basically told to leave because they were closing a bit early because they had so few customers left. Our waiter was young, but tried hard. The managers were rushing around slapping food on tables and I think that if anything, that made the service worse because both the wait staff and inexperienced bus staff started to lose their confidence and the natural flow of good service was broken. One appetizer (calamari)came 30 seconds after we placed our order. It was cold and so I assume it had been left behind by someone else. The next two appetizers came out in 15 minutes with the first entree. That entree was my schnitzel, supposedly their specialty, covered in what tasted like canned mushroom soup and with a side order of linguine that was really just a clump of stuck together pasta with Ragu-like sauce on top. The schnitzel was burned to black on the bottom (I could smell the burned part as the food was set down, so the cook and server must have known it was burned) and rock hard from overcooking, so it went back. Then my sister got her salmon, which was also overcooked to rock hard, with a pile of creamed corn on top. Either they opened a can or the chef has decided that emulating canned creamed corn is a worthwhile career accomplishment. Then it got worse. They came out with my long lost salad and the schnitzel, still overcooked to dark brown but at least it wasn't burned. Then one grilled chicken special came out of the kitchen, but the other three people at the table didn't get theirs. We waited and waited and finally started to eat. We finished and the other three got their entrees as our dishes were being cleared away twenty minutes later. During this time, the waiter opened a bottle of white wine and discovered it wasn't cold. He quickly replaced it. He also offered apologies many many times during the meal and you could tell the kitchen and management were not supporting him at all. He offered free beverages to the kids who got their chicken so late. The only saving grace in the meal was that the cheesecake was okay. When the bill came, all the beverages were still on it and the total was $260. For six people. For absolute crap food. I started dissecting the bill and found three separate errors. That brought it down $40. Normally I would pull the manager aside and suggest they consider a comp of most of the meal. However, since we were being pushed out so they could close their patio, that wasn't an option.
