Two little boys showed up to move us. They were maybe 15 and 19. Never backed a truck up before. Damaged walls, furniture and took three times as long to move 4 rooms. In the end I said put everything in the garage I will move it inside Don’t hire them cost more in damage then the move!
Never hire the Nanaimo branch of burley men. The mgr Gary screamed at me on the phone called me a liar about not having money to pay. The emotional distress that he caused me is beyond belief. I would never recommend this moving company. However “let’s move it” came to our rescue and they were amazing. Call them you won’t be sorry
Booked at the beginning at the month for the 26th. 30mins past when they were supposed to be here and still weren’t, I called and there was no record of me AT ALL in their system. My movers were never booked apparently. I’ve heard so many bad reviews for this company but I decided to give it a shot because I used them once before. NEVER will I use them again though.
This is not the first time Ive used the Burley Men. So they must be doing something right for me. My last move was to transfer some furnishings to my mothers new retirement home. The guys were friendly, showed up on time, did not dawdle and did a fine job. Thanks to Mick L and Chayse for a job well done!
If I could rate less than one star I would as well! The customer service right up to the owners was the worst experience I have ever had!! Will NEVER recommend this unprofessional company to any one. No wornder you have such terrible reviews. Im sorry I gave you a chance after I read them..
If I could rate less than a star, I would. It's moving day. We had this company lined up over a month in advance and they didn't show up at 9:00am as promised. After an hour of trying to get ahold of them, they told us that they are not coming and unable to do the move. An hour late. ON MOVING DAY. The people in the house we are moving to, also had this company lined up for their move and 2 Burley Men also bailed on them. The couple on the new house is elderly and my wife is 6 months pregnant.
Aws and Taze H. delivered exceptional service. They ensured our belongings were handled and wrapped with care and in a timely manner. They have been the best service we have received so far!
Very impressed, professional and efficient and appreciative of the preparation we had done prior to there arrival. With the three men and some help from ourselfs they had our three bedroom plus family room home and hot tub loaded in the the truck just over two hours.Unloaded at our destination in an hour and a half.They took special care to make sure nothing was damaged. Will not transport power tools with gas. Ask for Nick, Eric, and Martin.
My move from Victoria to Penticton was a nightmare
The owner will promise one thing, than turn around and do another. Very poor customer service. He will yelle at you and hold your belongings ransom until you pay his bill in full. BEWARE!!!

Scott the owner has great guys working for him, but is extremely rude and unprofessional. Threatened to dump our belongings because we got stuck waiting for a ferry when moving from the mainland to Nanaimo. He had overbooked his truck and blamed us because "it was our stuff in it". Thanks goes to his crew that stuck with us to the end and finished the job.
Very unfortunate experience in May 2015 when this company broke anything of value in my move and then offered too little as compensation. As a single mother I had to go out and replace everything broken, I'll be paying it off for a year. Never again
Booked and confirmed 3 times for help moving my 82 year old mother into a seniors' place. At 5:10, I called and was told they would be late. When I asked, how long, I was told that if I didn't want to wait, I shouldn't have booked the last move of the day! I'm a 60 Y.O. woman and I had to move all of her furniture and boxes myself (after just having eye surgery!) No show, no follow up since and no apology. Rude and unreliable. Have had many others agree about this very poor moving company!
